Default ? about gassy foods

Hi all! My 2month old is very gassy. Most of the time the gas doesn't pain her, but sometimes she writhes in pain. My question is this...

How long after you eat a food does it pass into the milk supply? (I can't know the food that causes her pain because I have no idea how long it takes to go into the milk supply.)

Also, is it normal for her to be so gassy? When she's gassy and not in pain, should I worry about those foods too??

TIA!!!

I've noticed that when I eat something Boo doesn't like, it usually pains him 2 feedings later (or maybe an hr or two), for up to 3 days (worst one ever).
He doesn't like milk, but cheese is okay most of the time (not all the time, every day). I've also heard that broccoli and those kinds of veggies, and soy, and wheat...

If it's not bothering him, and he's just gassy (mine anyway), I usually don't worry about it. It makes some great smiles! But if it doesn't seem to bother him, still check for the telltale rash around the anus... sign of a bad reaction, and that'll hurt AFTER it's digested.

I'd say a few hours too (you have to digest it and pass it into your bloodstream before it can make it into your milk supply.....for liquids like coffee or alcohol that can take as little as 1/2 hr but food still takes a couple hours for sure). Some bad foods are the gassy veggies like cauliflower and cabbage etc, chocolate (mostly b/c of the caffiene, I think), dairy and some people have problems with really spicey foods if they're unusual in your typical diet.

It's not unusual at your baby's age to be a little gassy too though.....it's prime colic age. Some women have great results adjusting their diets though so give it a go if you suspect something you're eating is causing her problems!
