Icon7 Update on IVF #1

I'd said I'd keep you up to date so here goes.....

BCP's were horrible but I feel great stimming.....It's day 5 and since I'm down to Lupron just in the evening the night sweats have gone away. Other than being really tired between about 9am and 11am I feel fantastic. My legs are terribly bruised though but don't really hurt. We tried the shots in the tummy but I got red bumps all over and itched like crazy so went back to the legs. Problem with that is my legs are so muscular from all the years of dancing that I draw blood nearly every time and am bruised. Rob calls me his dalmation, but he's been so sweet and hits his legs so supposedly we have matching bruises. LOL!

I'm actually pretty positive for once.....not saying "Oh this is definitely going to work" or anything like that but actually just being calm and going with the flow......believing that we got this far so it will work out the way it's supposed to. I guess it also helps that after next week all my copays will be paid so even if we have to do it again in a couple months insurance will cover and I won't have to pay a dime.

I have my next u/s and blood draw tomorrow morning at 7am and then my pre-op at 3:30 tomorrow afternoon. I'll post after that and let you know how it's going.

Hope everyone is doing great!

I really admire your attitude! I know that it will help you get through all this. I had a hard time developing one. Finally, with some help from a support group I turned my, "Oh this will never work," into "This could work." I was amazed at how much more relaxed I was. (and it ended up working!)

Good luck with your procedures and let us know how it goes!

Things seem to be moving along smoothly Kim and I agree you have a great attitude! You know I'm rooting for you, it is about darn time something went right for you! And hooray for insurance that actually covers something useful!

Hang in there and just stay calm and relaxed! At least you know it's out of your hands now, just sit back and let modern medicine do it's thing!

Kim, sounds like everything is progressing well. I was suprisingly calm with my IVF too. I think I jsut got to the point that I knew this was all I could do. Plus, even though we had to pay $20,000 for it, I knew I had 3 shots and having that backup plan really helped. It's so awesome you have coverage for this. I hope this all works out for you the first time, but it's nice to know you still have coverage for a 2nd attempt. Keep us posted on your next appt. Can't wait to hear the progress of those follies!!

All is moving ahead. I have 1 follie that's ahead of the other and lots of little tiny ones. E2 was at 119 so they upped the Gonal-f to 2 in the evening. Endometrium is doing great though. Next u/s and b/w Sunday morning at 8am.

Still hanging in there....slow and steady. I have 7 follies above 14 with the largest being 21 and lot's of little ones. I think they want to see if upping the dosage again today and giving them a couple more days of growth before ER will give me more. I guess slow and steady is definitely better than everything going too fast. I have no chance of OHSS at this point so that's a good thing.

Last night of stims...we think. This morning I was told I would probably trigger tonight.....they changed it by this afternoon and I go back tomorrow for another scan. Looks like trigger on anniversary tomorrow and ER on Saturday.

Grow follies grow!!
I'll be waiting for another update tomorrow after your u/s and I'm hoping to hear some big numbers from you! I know it's hard to stay patient but like you said slow and steady is better than going too quickly. ER will be here before you know it...then the excellent fert report...perfect transfer...and BFP at the end! See, I have this all planned out for you!

Good luck and I'll be keeping an eye on you!
