Hey, this is my first post on a message board and I hope I'm even doing it right! My DH and me have been TTC for 2 years and have learned he has oligospermia. I have a DD from a previous marriage who is 9 yrs old. I have wanted to give her a sibling for a long time. We haven't took the step to go to a fertility doctor yet. My DH wants me to get through nursing school first before we "make something happen". It is very hard to be patient!! I know I'm not the only one in this boat. Can someone reply so I know these things really work?! Thanks!!

to the She Knows Message Boards! My name is Sheri and I've been a member of She Knows since August of 2005. My Dh and I have been trying to conceive for 22 months. Not quite 2 years, but close enough, so I think I have a pretty good idea of how you feel. It has been a rough road in ttc for us, to say the least. Dh has a varicocele which affects his sperm. We have been trying au naturale and will continue to do so and pray for a miracle. We both also take vitamins and Dh takes vitamins that are supposed to help with sperm health. We are trying to decide if he should have the surgery to repair the varicocele because it seems that a lot of the time, couples still end up doing iui or ivf, which are not options for us. I would hate for Dh to go through the surgery for nothing. We have been using Preseed the last several months as well. Well, that pretty much sums up my situation.

This board is very slow, but maybe if there are lurkers out there that will come out and post, we can get this board moving again.

I hope you get your BFP soon! I look forward to getting to know you!

Sheri,
Thank you so much for replying! I was beginning to think no one was out there! It's funny you mention Preseed, I have been thinking about trying that. Well, AF is actually due today for me, but I bought a cheap HPT and it was BFN. My DH just got some blood work done a FSH to see if the message is getting through to produce more sperm. I won't know the results til next week. By the way, my name is Andrea. I am 29 and DH is 24. I hope you two can get a BFP without the surgery, as I am learning, if the Lord wills it, it is going to happen no matter what!! Not alot happening right now- Thank you again for answering!! Talk to you soon.

Hi Andrea! Yeah, I heard lots of good things about Preseed and I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it. I'll try just about anything at this point! I hope you get great results from your DH's bloodwork. I'll keep my for you! If you don't mind me asking, what is oligospermia? I'm not sure I've heard of it before. Well, I hope AF stays away for you! Sorry about the BFN, hopefully it was wrong!

Nothing new with me. I think I already feel AF knocking at my door and she's not due for another 4 or 5 days!

Hope you have a great day!

Hello, Sheri and whoever else is reading-
I think I'm starting to feel numb about everything because AF came and I just think I'm getting so used to it that if I ever did get pregnant, I'd probably have a heart attack right there on the spot!
For those that don't know what oligospermia is, it's just a fancy name for "low sperm count". My dh's last SA was around 8mil, sounds like plenty to get me pregnant but in reality it's quite low. I just found out that my friend from school is pregnant, I tell ya they sprout up everywhere don't they?
I've been comtemplating taking my temps, but I'm fairly sure of when I ovulate, my dh swears he is more attracted to me around ovulaton, any one else know what I mean?? I am praying for you Sheri, and if someone else is reading this and wants prayer support, please reply and I will pray on your behalf also. Let's get this board hoppin girls, I know there are more of you out there!! By the way, how do you get those fancy pictures and your name after your message, sorry I'm just a beginner!!!
Andrea

Andrea,

Hi! I'm sorry showed her ugly face. I feel her coming my way too, a few days early. It's always hard when you find out that friends and family are expecting when you've been trying so long. My brother and sil are trying for their second. As much as I want another niece or nephew, it still kind of hurts a little. Thank you for explaining what oligospermia means. I guess I never new the "technical term" for low sperm count. It looks like we are both dealing with male infertility issues. I've been temping and charting for 1 1/2 years now. I pretty much know when I'm about to ovulate, but I'm so addicted now, I can's stop. Plus I want to make sure my luteal phase stays pretty close each cycle. I'm praying for you too, Andrea. I know some day we both will be blessed with a healthy baby.

In order to create a signature, there are several steps you need to do. You first need to open a free account with a photo hosting site. I use photobucket. There is a list of others if you go to the Graphic Central Board, and then to Q&A Signature Testing, here at She Knows. You can find blinkies if you go to the Grapic Central Board and click on the Sticky at the top titled "Blinky Tuts". Scroll down and you will find a list of women's names and they are links to all of their work. If you find blinkies you like, you need to right click on them, and click save as to save them onto your pc. You can also request custom blinkies, glitter names and custom signatures on the Graphic Central Board. You would save them to your pc the same way. All of the women are super nice on the Graphics board! Next you need to visit your photo hosting site and upload the images from your pc and the photo hosting site will give you IMG codes that you will need to copy and then paste into your signature here at She Knows. If you go to the Graphic Central Board, and click on Q&A Signature Testing, they have step by step instructions on how to put the codes into your signature. Once you have the codes entered in, your images will appear in your signature! I sure hope this makes sense. I know when I first started doing all of this, I was lost too. You'll probably learn alot from trial and error. I know I did. All of a sudden it just "clicked" one day. I will help you in any way I can, just let me know.

Talk to you soon!

Mom2Cameron,

DH & I are definitely considering the surgery, it's just not written in stone yet. I think he probably will though. I sure hope we are as fortunate as you were. I can't believe you were able to conceive in only one month. Usually it takes something like 72 days for new sperm to mature. That's incredible!

BTW, your DS is adoreable!
