Moving on to IVF
Well, our beta came back negative. This was our 5th IUI cycle and it looks like it is our last. We have a consult with the RE in the morning to discuss moving on to IVF. I am hoping that we will be able to move forward without having to take a break. Our Schedule for 2005 would probably require we wait until April to do IVF. I think if I take that big a break, I won't want to start trying again.
Sorry I don't have good news to share.

Re: Moving on to IVF
Hi Meghan,
I'm so sorry that your beta came back negative. Take a little time out for your self and then re-group. There's nothing that says that you have to move onto IVF if you are not ready to. That's a personal decision for you. Perhaps you can try naturally while you investigate further about IVF options. That's what I'm in the process of doing. Whatever your decision we will be here for you.

Re: Moving on to IVF
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, we discussed everything with the Doctor and feel like we have a good plan.
We will be on break for a cycle, then when AF shows in December, we will start bcp's. When AF shows again,we will be doing a micro-dose lupron protocol since we are only OK responders. 225 of Gonal or Follistim twice a day starting on day 3, then add repronex on day 6, baby asprin the entire cycle.
For my age group, they have a 43% pregnancy rate per cycle, of those a 35% twin rate for a day 3 transfer of 2 embryos. They will do ICSI if the eggs are not fertilizing, so we would not lose a cycle. They only do Blast transfers under certain circumstances, which at this point we don't meet. They also provide counseling if needed and recommend anything to reduce stress, like acupuncture. Now I need to start working on getting my referral from Kaiser. They tend to be a little slow, but we have a month to get it done.
So, I guess we are on break for now. I feel really good about this decision. Maybe there is some hope in all of this.
Thanks for being there for me. Its been a rough 6 months for us.

Re: Moving on to IVF
I'm sorry about the negative beta Meghan but it sounds like things are moving in a good direction now. I hope that everything falls into place and that 2005 turns out to be the best ever!

Re: Moving on to IVF
I really hope this does the trick! I am also going to enjoy being on a break for the holidays.
Moved forward on getting our referral and am meeting with my OB/GYN after Thanksgiving. Hopefully we will have it in hand then. Now if I could just kick this nasty cold, I'd be doing great!
Thanks for the support ladies!
