Re: Kristen - Lupron Questions
Hi Kim,
I read your other post and I'm glad you have found an option where you wouldn't have to go through another lap! For me the Lupron honestly wasn't that bad, and I am a big baby about that kind of thing! I would say the first few weeks I hardly noticed anything different, though I did start having some mild hot flashes. As time went on the hot flashes seemed to intensify and by the end of the 3rd month I was ready to try the add-back, but it was not horrible like I couldn't go on without it. The intensity of the flashes seemed to correspond with the temp outside too, like as it warmed up in the Spring I seemed to notice them more so it could have been just the weather bothering me too. I did have some headaches during that time that could have been from the Lupron, but honestly I was under so much stress from work then that it's hard to say what caused them. And again, nothing that some Tylenol couldn't cure. Other than that I really didn't notice any major symptoms, and if anything I was a much happier and less moody person because I wasn't ttc and dealing with raging hormones all the time!
As far as timing, I don't know if it matters what time in your cycle you start the shots. I started mine shortly after my lap and I did get AF about the regular time and then it stopped after that. So I would think you could start anytime, but I'm no expert there.
I hope that helps you with your decision somewhat! Like you said, everyone is different but I hope hearing an experience where it wasn't the most horrific thing ever will help you! I heard so many bad things but I just told myself it wasn't going to be that bad so maybe just my attitude helped, you never know! Good luck and if you have other questions let me know!
