Default Here's the deal....

Went in for another u/s and bw and found out that I have 8 follicles:

Rt Side

17
16

Lt Side

27
17
16.5
16
15
14

Good thing is the Follistim is working....bad thing is too many follicles = risk of multiples.

Was given the following choices:

1. Cancel cycle

2. Do IUI and risk having lots of multiples (Dr. wasn't too comfortable with that)

3. Do IVF - extract the eggs and transfer the best 2 (don't have the money yet)

4. Try naturally - knowing that there is still a risk

I told the Dr that I am not going to do IUI or IVF this cycle but will try naturally if my E2 will allow it and risk is less since many of the sperm will probably not make it like they would in IUI.

Well Dr's office called me back today at 12:30 to tell me to take the HCG trigger tonight and to have intercourse on Wednesday, I guess decreasing my risk of multiples a little bit.

Talked it over with DH and we are prepared for what God gives us and will try naturally. If we are unsuccessful we will be doing a cycle next month at less of a dosage of Follistim.

I have an appointment tomorrow with a High Risk Ob/Gyn so it should be interesting to find out what they say about the Lupus Anticoagulant finding.

I'll keep you all posted!

Whoa.............that is a lot of follies!! What dosage follistim were you on and for how many days? Did they tell you your e2 level? Have fun bd'ing and let's hope those swimmers can find the many targets that are out there.

Holy cow Kim, that IS a lot of follicles! That must have been a difficult decision but I think we would have done the same thing in your shoes. Good luck with the bding and let's hope those swimmers find the targets but not too many!

I had 11 follicles all over 18 last time. We did an IUI and....NADA. We had 2 this time, and I am praying that we get at least one. I just figured God would not give us more then we could handle and let it roll. GOOD LUCK!!! Hopefully one will stick.

Hey Girls!

Thanks for the well wishes!!

Kerri - I was on 150 IU last month and got a small response on 16mm follie so they increased me to 300IU this month but the tech couldn't see my follies on the left side (they were pointing in the wrong direction) - my uterus is tilted foward and tipped to the right so my left ovary hangs out higher than the right. If they were able to see the activity going on sooner they would have decreased my dosage - lessons learned. Now I have one girl in particular that finds my ovaries right away for the doc - she was the one who found it on the first try on day 12-unfortunately too late.

Keeping my that everything will be okay!
