Hello, I'm new here but I have been lurking about for a couple weeks. My husband and I have been trying for 7 years. 3 years on our own, 2 with a doctor, and we are recently starting again after 2 years on our own again. We have tried 8 cycles with Clomid, 6 with Glucophage, and one IUI with Clomid. We had one miscarriage at 9 weeks in 2000. We have recently started going to a new doctor and are trying IUI with Letrozole instead of Clomid. We were told that they have had much more success with this drug and it does not come have any of the mood swing side effects (mine were pretty bad) and does not adversely affect the lining of uterus. I went in for my IUI yesterday so hopefully this will be what we need. I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried this or known anyone who has, I know it is actually a breast cancer drug and is pretty new to infertility but I did a little research online but have not found much info.

I took it for 4 cycles and had great follies and lining but NEVER got pregnant. I only got to trigger 3 times out of the 4 due to the follies not growing fast enough.

Thanks for responding, I would pm you but I dont know how, learning my way around. sorry to hear it did not work for you. I was just looking for some general info if anyone had any, not much out there I can find. But I am hopeful.

Hi!! I was just lurking and I noticed your post. I'm pretty sure that Letrozole is another name for Femara and I know that it worked for a few girls on the clomid board. I also tried it and although it didn't work for me, I did ovulate on it (something I was never able to do on clomid) and the side effects were pretty much zero. You should check out the Femara board...I'm sure they'll have plenty of info.
