Default Terrible Two's

I know it's pretty quiet around here lately but I was hoping someone might have some suggestions. I don't know if it is because he is a boy or if I just got really lucky with my older two girls. But they never had tantrums like this one does. It's not all the time. He is very well behaved...when he wants to be. He listens...when he feels like it. But if he wants or does not want to do something...he throws a royal fit. I am trying to be very consistent and not let him get away with anything, but my babysitter seems to have more difficulty with it than I do. She does the timeout thing after a couple of warnings and I think he is not really responding well to them. I don't think he sees the connection. Just wondering if there were any books anyone would suggest or tactics that worked for them. I think alot of it he will grow out of but I thought if had things that would work now, it would make everyone's life a little bit easier. He is such a sweetheart and it just kills me to see him act like this. But man is he stubborn! Thanks for any advice!
