Default Kelsey Leigh...

Kelsey Leigh was born on June 18 at 10:59 a.m. by our labor/delivery nurse! My doctor came running in from his local office about 15 minutes later. Dusty was already holding the baby when he came running in still in his suit.

They started the induction at 6:00 a.m. when they hooked me up to the pit. and broke my water. Things were going really slowly until they gave me the epidural around 8. At 10 my nurse called my doctor to tell him that I was ready and that he needed to get there. He was about 20 minutes away at his office. He thought that he had more time because of hos slowly things were going when he saw me at the hospital earlier.

Labor and delivery went so fast that the nurse told me to stop pushing because the doctor wasn't there and I was very close. That's when my tummy got upset and I got sick and ..... out came the baby. Right into the nurses arms. She was very calm and collected even though you could tell that this was something that just didn't happen. The house doctor came rushing in and took over. Kelsey had meconium on her so they took her right away to clean out her lungs. Everyone kept commenting on what a big girl she was.

The house doctor and the nurses were taking guesses on how much she weighed. They were all wrong when my "little" bundle tipped the scales at 9 pounds 14 ounces and 21.5 inches. She has lots of light brown hair and current sports dark blue eyes. Which I am sure that will turn to poopy brown (family joke) like everyone else but me in my house.

Big sister Samantha is adjusting really well to her little sister. There hasn't been any times of jealousy. But we are dealing with her thinking that because she is a BIG sister that she can do whatever she wants. Like take off to my Aunts house at 7 in the morning and not tell me that she is going there while I feed the baby.

I am healing great...only 8 stiches with this baby. Samantha was a LOT more. Kelsey is sleeping between 4-6 hours a night. She is very strong, already rolls up to her side and bobs her head around when you try to burp her.
