Hey ladies, I have to share my excitement with you. I am headed out for a girls weekend away with 5 of my friends here in the neighborhood and we leave tomorrow. This will be the longest and FIRST time I have ever left my kids. Dh will be with them, but we actually have never ever spent a night away from the kids either. We don't have anyone to keep them and family is too far or not willing. Anywho....we are going about an hour away to a fun town. We will go dancing (adults do that without listening to the Lori Berkner Band?), dinner (without high chairs and kids spilling stuff), sit by the pool and actually sun bath (no splashing and catching kids in the water), and probably do a little bar hopping or got to a piano bar (I have never done that before!)
SOOOOO SOOOOOO SOOOOO EXCITED! Come on Friday at 4:30!!!
That sure does sound like a lot of fun. Have the best of time, enjoy every moment of it.

Enjoy Heather. A few of my college friends and I are talking about having a mini-reunion and getting away. We can't decide whether to bring the kids and Dh's since most of the Dh's all know each other from college too, but after reading your weekend plans I'm thinking the rest of the family can come next time. That sounds *wonderful*. Enjoy! I'm going to do the same thing later, in the summer, in Montreal. I've never been away from Anna for more than one night (she occasionally goes to her Nanas' for a sleepover).
I'm green w/ envy. I haven't been away from they boys (over night)ever, well if my c/s stay doesn't count. I'd have to turn off my mommy-guilt but may be I'd get over that REAL fast.
I just did a weekend to Salt Lake City with a girlfriend. The best part was uninterrupted, deep sleep! I'm a big believer in weekends away. Fortunately, DH is a believer also!
What? You got sleep on your weekend? How nice that must of been! We all had so much that we didn't get in until after 2 every night and then sat up and talked like high school girls. Of course the internal mom clock kicked in at 7:00 am and we were all awake. We had a blast though! Took our time eating meals and just enjoyed talking and each others company. We went out at night and danced and just took it all in. If you think you see pictures of me dancing on the bar at coyote ugly surfacing on the internet...totally believe it! Yes, I got up and danced with the coyoto's along with two of my friends, got proposed to by a guy who was getting married this coming weekend and told me he would much rather be married to me. I was also told that I was calgon take me away moment. Now that was a pick up line if I had ever heard one. Anyway...always good to know that other men still think you are cute after you are a mom of 3 and have been happily married for 8 years. Little ego boost! I am looking forward to another weekend away some time (maybe a little quieter next time though).
Sounds like you had a great time! I'd like to see a photo of you dancing on the bar! You obviously don't need that tummy tuck.
I got hit on at my yoga class several months ago, and I talked about it FOREVER. I was so thrilled that someone besides Jack found me attractive! It is a good feeling.
I am impressed that you stayed up so late! Guess my age is really starting to show...
