Default Femara - side effects

Hello - I'm new to this board. I've just begun fertility treatment after trying for 12 months. I've previously had a molar pregnancy and miscarriage. I've done one round of femara and unfortunately AF showed up yesterday. They've checked my tubes and they are clear. DH is ok too. I've noticed a few things that are different though - wondered if anyone experienced them. I seem to have some kind of acne that I haven't had in years. Is that a side effect of the drug? Also, has anyone every experienced a rash from it?

And - in general, how long do you stay on femara without conceiving before they try something else?

I don't have the answers you're looking for but if you go over to the femara board I'm sure there are some women who may have the answers for you. I took femara and got pg the first time but it ended with a m/c @ 8wks. I just finished my second dose and I took the pills at night before bed and I didn't have the side effects I did the 1st time (loose bm). I'm not sure about how long the dr. will prescribe may be similar to clomid. Not sure I forgot to ask this last time but will be doing the same. Hope you get the BFP soon and I am so sorry for your losses!

Jumping from Femara board to say I have had acne w/Femara as well and I and a few of the others from Femara board have noticed that we are losing alot of hair. I've only noticed this the first couple of days on Femara then it seems to taper off to normal hair loss. I've had no other s/e's. This is only my 2nd cycle on Femara so I don't know how long b4 dr. tries something else.

hello
Talk to your doctor if you’re allergic to Femara or any of its ingredients. You should not take Femara if you are pregnant as it may cause fetal harm. You must be postmenopausal to take Femara. Some women reported fatigue and dizziness with Femara. Until you know how it affects you, use caution before driving or operating machinery. Longer follow-up is needed to determine the risk of bone fracture associated with long-term use of Femara
