Default Recommendations for older baby

Hello! I have been wearing my baby in a bjorn since she was 8 pounds. She is 4 months old now and about 13 pounds. Lately, it seems like my back is starting to hurt from wearing her. I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a sling/carrier that is easier on the back? I plan to keep wearing her for awhile. Also, we are on the go alot so a carrier that is easy to get in and out of would be best.
Thanks for your help!

Betsy

I find mei tais very easy to use. The kind I use is here http://www.kozycarrier.homestead.com/Kozyinfo.html
If you want to use it "in and out" you can fold it down around your waist and tie it until you want to put DD in again. I do this when shopping quite often. Since it is a two shoulder carrier that you also tie around your waist, it is much easier on your back. You can use a mei tai until 35lbs or when ever you decide to stop wearing your baby. I can easily wear my DS (about 40lbs) or DD (about 50 lbs) in it and it doesn't bug my back.
A wrap is another good idea. It takes longer to learn, but within a week I had a couple different carries figured out. The "forward cross carry" (or FCC) is "poppable". You can tie it on and get baby in and out without taking the wrap off. This site has many types of wraps. http://store.attachedtobaby.com/sear...x?categoryid=4
The wrap I have is a SPOC (Simple Piece Of Cloth) made from some gauze I bought at Wal-Mart. Very nice for summer.

I can answer any more questions you have (or at least try!), just let me know.

She speaks well!!! Yep... Mei Tais are good for long extended child wearing. It uses both shoulders and waist which rocks! I've heard good things about the kozy, the ergo and my personal favorite the snugglebug carrier. I don't know where you live and what kind of heat your dealing with but the wrap style is really easy pop in and out because you can keep it on and be "stylin"!!! lol... hope that helped a bit!!

I LOVE my mei tai!!! I have a Babyhawk www.babyhawk.com that I use daily (or close) with my 5mo old. I also recently bought a wrap from a WAHM. My small 'almost' 10yo son (he's about 4' 2" and 58lbs) wore Ellie in that (not for a long period of time, but he did it nonetheless ). It's not nearly as hard as it seems it would be to learn to use...and it's so versatile. My mei tai is my fave right now, though! It gets a lot of compliments, too...and it doesn't hurt!
