Mei Tai mama here!

If you’re MT is in fact a Sachi, I have read that they have very large bodies. When you say it is to big do you mean to wide or two long- or all of the above!? If it’s simply to long you can roll It up at the bottom- just fold up the waist strap a time or two to make the body shorter. If the carrier is to wide and simply not working for you I’m afraid to say there is nothing you can really do about it and a making a trade may be your best option.
As far as a ’better’ mei tai- I’m not sure if I could recommend a ’better’ carrier but I can tell you about the MTs that I LOVE!! When reaching for a MT I go for my Freehand (
www.freehandbaby.com ) first and then I will find myself reaching for my Kozy (
www.kozycarrier.com ). I find that the Freehand has a narrow body and besides that I chose a silk brocade and it is stunning!! The Kozy has a wider body but is a very comfortable carry. I’m also in the market for a Baby Hawk (
www.babyhawk.com ) - they have the greatest fabric choices and if you are looking for a smaller body this ‘may’ be the MT for you?? There is also a mei tai making mama here at SK that posts here in the baby wearing forum that sells mei tais on her website. Dana, aka: mom2logan is her name- I don’t have any personal experience with her carriers but they look lovely.
For more information or if you are looking to make a trade checkout
www.thebabywearer.com - they have all sorts of wonderful goodies there including a ‘for sale or trade’ forum.
Good luck and happy babywearing!
