Default New Here...Wanted to Introduce Myself

Hi All,

I'm Stefanie, 32, and have a 13 month old son. My son was a great sleeper when he was an infant, but once I went to work, almost 6 months ago, it has been downhill from then. I've been handling the 1 - 2 wakings for nursing, but it's just getting ridiculous now.

These past few weeks have been the pits - he's been waking every 2 - 3 hours just to nurse (he throws his pacifier if I try to give it to him), and he just wants me to hold him and rock him back to sleep.

I know he's been teething (molars are coming in), but his naps are better than nighttime. Some nights, he won't even let me put him down in his crib so I give up and put him in bed with us -- he's awful to sleep with (kicks and wiggles all over the bed).

My DH wants me to try CIO, but I told him there's got to be a better way because I just can't hdndle it when Ethan cries. He's such a happy baby, never fussy or moody even when he's sick, so it kills me to hear him cry.

I'm running out this afternoon to buy "The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night" because I'm at my wits end. I need to wean Ethan, and instead of getting fewer nursings, he's nursing more frequently.

Just wanted to join this board - hopefully we'll be getting some sleep soon
