Default Avelinn

Hi, My son is 7 months old and wakes up 3to4 times a night. When he wakes up he pulls up to a standing position. How do I get him to fall asleep on his own if he keeps pulling his self up not knowing how to get back down.
Hi there! Sorry I didn't answer, but I only just found your post sandwiched in between messages with Evelyn! Nice to meet you!

I'm thinking you would really enjoy reading "The No Cry Sleep Solution" by Elizabeth Pantley, which talks about different skills that babies try and attain during the first year, such as learning how to roll over, sit up and - in your case - your baby has learned the special and very needed skill of standing up on his own! Congratulations to your little guy for figuring this out! However, like it talks about in the book, they are sort of obsessed with whatever little skill they are learning when something like this is being acquired, so he's waking up almost against his will to practice this skill, almost in the same way I get an annoying song stuck in my head and it can run through my mind all night when I'm trying to sleep! But that's another story

Anyway! Hope that helps... has it changed at all, or is he still working this one out? Let us know!

Nice to meet u also.

My little boy has mastered the skill of standing up and that is all he wants to do now. It is almost like when he wakes up he has to stand up. He must be looking for me. When I go to him I lay him back down and almost always can get him to fall right back to sleep. Right now he is teething so I think that is why he is wakeing up so much. Can't wait till thats over.
