Thinking of CD baby#4
well we are expecting a wonderful surprise baby in March. We had just decided we were done after a miscarriage so I sold everything except my crib thankfully!! Anyways with the cost of rebuying and the cost of another babe we hav been considering cloth diapers(and honestly my 12 year old daughter is a big save the earth advocate)
So I started looking at cloth diapers and wow there pretty fancy now and overwhelming with the choices! I am kind of thinking prefolds for a newborn(someone told me cloth rubs on the belly button so don't use cloth till it heals...is this true?)and thinking economically this sounds like the best way to go......but I kind of think the cloth one size would maybe ned up being better and more absorbant....kind of afraid to invest a lot and have noting but leaks as my husband is already on the fence with cloth.
So any advice for a newbie? I am in Canada....any online stores you have been happy with? How many diapers will I need, how many covers? the stores have such a big price range on fleece liners, doublers ect...do i need these? an i make my own fleece liners or do they have something special done to them? Oh also was thinking of using switching my almost 2 year old to cloth while training,he has mild CP so has a bit of trouble with his fingers so wondering if one brand was easier to pul up and down?
Thanks!!
