I finally got around to ordering more diapers today! That was fun

I ended up getting a better stash of prefolds and several more covers to go along with what I already have, and I got 2 fitteds to try, 1 bumgenius and 1 thirsties. I didn't want to order a bunch until I know if I like them or not, and honestly I really like prefolds/covers but think I might prefer a fitted rather than a PF when we're out and about.

A question, nearly every time my little guy poops, the prefold/cover system contains it perfectly BUT it almost always gets at least a little bit on the cover, usually right at the leg opening on the inside. I hear about people not needing to wash the covers every single diaper change but I'm not sure if that means pee diapers only or if I'm doing something wrong, or if it's just how prefolds/covers work.

If some poop hits the cover, rinse it off and hang it to dry. They dry soooo quickly so it should be ready for the next change if you need it..... At least, that's what I've done in the past

If I've been good about wiping them out, I only wash them every few days, and when I say "wash," I throw them in the final rinse and hang them to dry.

OMG I am so doing that!! I've been sending them through the whole wash, wash, extra rinse routine just about every time he poops, and half the time when it's just pee

Yeah, no kidding. My order came in today and the fitteds I got are so soft and luxurious, I am in love. This is not a good thing, the first reason I considered CD'ing was to save money

Now I have a 4th of july fleece soaker coming that I got from a girl on hc, it's the cutest thing I've ever seen and if I like it I'm ordering a bunch more.

And btw, DANG, I've sure been having an easier time of it since you ladies gave me that great tip. Thanks!!!
