Default Questions

I haven't read all the threads yet but thought I would post some of my own questions.

I cloth diapered with #3 for awhile but I used pre-folds and various covers. I am looking at Fuzzi Bunz and was thinking about putting them on my registry. (Someone is throwing me a baby shower because it is my first GIRL after 3 boys! HAHA So it is almost like the first baby all over again! Mainly I just need clothes and some girl baby blankets...no bottles since I breastfeed and still have some anyway. that is why I thought I would put cds on my list!I want to try an all in one and I have heard great things about FBs.

My question is how many do I need? I think I will do what I did with my third and use disposables at night only. But I just wonder- do I need 20? more? I still have the pre-folds too.

I am sure I have more questions but I can't think of any more right now. Any advice is appreciated though. And it doesn't HAVE to be FBs but that is where I started.

Thanks!

The day you deliver, outside will be warm. Your baby will arrive in the evening. After a labor lasting approximately 5 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 15 ounces, and will be 17-1/2 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and dark hair.

How big were your boys? If they were 8+lbs, your daughter will be in the 7lb range. Personally I would register for no more than 2-3 smalls.

I use to LOVE FB with my DD. I went a little crazy and got 18 small FBs for DS before he was born. When he was born, I used prefolds/covers until the cord fell off. Then I started using FB at night only. Needless to say, I sold them by the time he was 10 weeks old (13-14 pds) at a loss of over 50%. Sad part, they were practically brand new since most had only 3-4 wears. I would have used them more however he's allergic to latex and their elastic has some in it and he would get really bad red marks from them.

Not to mention, what fits on one child perfectly may not on another. For DD, happy heiny fit her lousy. For DS, HH fit the best. DD has no bum or thighs whereas DS has both.

If you want to register for more fun, get a bunch of different diapers so you can see what works for you. Most online stores have a bunch of different brands. I LOVE fattycakes but they are only available from WAHMs. They are slimmer than FB and HHs.

Other brands I can suggest:
HH
VB pockets or AIO. Recommend flutterbybaby
bumgenious. Some really love these since they are onesize. I hated the fit on DS for the same reason as FB.
Green Acres Designs (again another slim fitting)

Check any other their website and see if there is a local store. Most people won't mind driving to a local place and they are usually more willing to take returns as long as you don't wash them

My oldest was 6 lbs 8z, middle was 7 lbs 8oz and the youngest was 8Lbs 15.6 oz! So I am hoping she is smaller than 8 lbs LOL

Maybe I will do a mix and match.

Thanks for the advice! I love your kids' names. Shaleigh sounds Irish...I'm partial to Irish names I am not Irish but have a common Irish last name, and my kids all pretty much have Irish names.

Thanks. DH is half (though if asked full) Irish so I kinda had no choice in not using Irish names.
