Default My first attempt at knitting a soaker...

I am so proud of myself. I finished stitching together my first soaker tonight. I know I have a lot of room for improvement but I wanted to share. It took me soooooooo long to learn how to knit that I am very excited that I actually finished a soaker. Well, not quite finished, I still have to make and I-cord, and work in the last thread....Anyway....here's a pic. of the soaker and a ball of yarn that I dyed w/ koolaid.

I know it's not the best, but I can only get better w/ practice!!!

This is the pattern tha I used. It seemed to be basic but still cute. I may do a couple more for practice and then I'll try one of the other patterns that I have. I bought the F&F pattern months ago but was intimidated by it.

I think this is Lion brand wool. Just cheapy stuff til I get better.

Maybe the next time I'll try adding the cuffs.

Any advice for a knitting newbie??

Thank you!

It really didn't take me long at all. I'd say about 2 wks tops, start to finish. But that is working on it here and there of course.

Thanks Donna! I'm not sure what to do w/ it, but I think I'll make a had for the boys. I have 2 skeins of yarn that I dyed, but the colors ran together more on the other. LOL.

I have been having so much fun w/ this stuff.
