due in december mom considering cloth.. ?s
I also posted this on my DID board but I thought after I posted I will come here.. I do not really go anywhere on SK except Due in December board so I will have to try to remember to pop in here more often..

DH and I have been getting more and more "green" through our marriage. We recycle everything we possibly can and try hard to get environmentally safe stuff for around the house.
My mom CD'ed my two youngest brothers. I was 7 and 9 so of course I remember it kinda being a PITA lol.
The statistics on how many diapers ONE baby can put into a landfill in a year is insane. Not to mention the chemicals that are used in the making of these diapers, that are against your babys skin and then put into the ground to seep into the Earth..
I am really considering doing it for this baby, at least on days I am home (vacations and weekend trips to grandparents I do not think I would do it, but I am home several days a week). I would also use disposables say if I was out on a shopping trip for the day or whatnot, because I REALLY do not see myself lugging dirty diapers around the mall with me.
Can anyone tell me basically what its all about? How many cloth diapers should you buy without having to do laundry every hour? How do you keep the smell down in your house from them? Do they come with liners of some kind to help scrape the dirty stuff out easy? Do they leak a lot? I am kinda dumb when it comes to this, my mom did it but like I said.. I was young so I paid no attention to anything except when mom handed me one to put in the bucket (ewww lol)
Thanks!
