Icon5 ? for u all

im lurking from BIS 2005,

my boy is 6 months old and ive always wanted to cosleep so we bought a kingsize bed and it went ok for a while but then i just kept getting more and more scared about sids. i dont have a crib for him anymore b/c he hated it BUT he loves sleeping in his carseat. i think he likes it b/c i can pull the shade down a little so hes in a little cocoon ive read LOTS on the sids website but i cant find any info on babes sleeping in carseats at night, is it safe? how can i make it safer? i dnt let him sleep with the shade down ever and the only blankets used is a little one under his bum to make it softer. any thoughts? thanks so much ladies!

I dont know about sleeping in the carseat but what about co-sleeping worries you regarding sids??

i've read research that implies a parent and babies sleep cycles will regulate to each other while cosleeping and that breathing may do the same thing as well.. reducing the risk of sids. This was along the lines that the researchers believed that sids may be caused by some kind of predisposition in a baby's brain that causes them to fall into TOO deep a sleep and from what I understand, basically shut down/forget to breathe.

why don't you put him on the outside, with you sleeping between them?

I've co-slept with four babies now, all under my covers with me with absolutely no problems. Vaccinations pose a much greater SIDS risk than any sleeping situation, but doctors won't tell you that.
