Default Naps

Hi, I'm Judi and I have a son, Connor who just turned 6 months. We co-sleep at night but during the day I want him to nap alone in his crib. I can't get him to take naps in his crib, he wakes up within minutes. The only way he'll nap is on my lap. I need to get housework done when he's napping. I need help mommas!
TIA
Judi

Hi Judi,
I have had the same situation with my son Cullen and know it can be really frustrating...What I've found is that he will nap a lot longer if I put him into our bed (rather than his crib). I will either lay down with him and nurse or pat him to sleep and then slip away once he's out - or get him into a deep sleep when he's in my lap and then carefully transer him into my bed. I think because he's more familiar with the bed and surrounding room he is not as hesitant to sleep on his own. The only precaution is making sure that your son won't roll out. I have created the world's largest pillow barricades ...but due to Cullen's increasing crawling/rolling I am going to invest in a rail for the side of our bed in the near future. Good luck!

my daughter prefers her crib for naps. i am not sure why LOL but when she insists on sleeping with me i nap with her, the dishes can wait till daddy gets home to help hold her but i usually do my dishes with her in her carrier. (getting a new hotsling soon!) if you can wear him DO IT they love it. and just nap with him mama. you deserve naps too. if your not tired just lay there with him, I mean come on now could you ever get sick of looking at that adorable baby? nuh ah!
