Default I'm sad.

so....my son co-slept with us part time from the time he was born. I was scared to death to co-sleep. mostly he was so tiny....But after reading some, and being informed that you have a natural instinct to not roll over your baby just like you have to not roll out of bed. and how the baby learns to breath and takes ques from the momma. So I'd lay him in his crib, but when he woke at night I'd bring him in with me and sidelay breastfeed him. It worked out great and we both got sleep. so I continued on with this, he's 19 months old and well he's just now starting to sleep through the night and is weaning from breastfeeding, and I laid him in his crib the other night while he was still awake and he fell asleep all by himself, I was not expecting this, and he slept through the night, and he slept BETTER than when he does if he's in with us.

So I'm sad kinda. i thought I'd be happy for this day since we don't have much room in our bed anyhow cuz its a full, but I went in to check on him last night before I went to bed and I just wanted to take him out and snuggle with him. My hearts going two directions. happy he's a big boy now, but sad because I don't have my cuddle bug anymore!

I'm sorry that it happened before you were ready for it. I don't think we are usually ready for them to take those big steps. Even when we are sorta looking forward to it, it can hit us hard. He is still young, I'm sure you will have lots of chances in the future to snuggle him in bed. He'll have times that he is sick or scared or just unsure of growing up and he will need those cuddles.
