Icon5 Did you cosleep in the hospital?

Our hospital had a queen size bed for new moms and dads to sleep together. We were allowed to take the plastic bassinet off of the cart and put it inbetween us.

That sounds kewl! Dads dont sleep over at our hospital. I coslept with my 1st because the heating broke in our room and the nurse said to either put him in with me or she would take him to the nursary - well there was no way she was taking him! lol. The second time around I just did it and it was beautiful

Jordan spent the first night in the nursery because since she was born later at night, I was expecting to be pretty tired... but as it turned out I didn't sleep at all and was missing her almost as soon as she left the room. After that, the only time she left my room was for the pediatricians to do their rounds at 7am. We didn't co-sleep at the hospital mostly because I was too scared to, but she slept great in the bassinet, pulled up between my bed and DH's cot.

I did and it freaked my dh out, then when she got sick at about 4mos and ended up in the hospital and was admitted I told the nurses and she said, okay, not a problem. she said that they had a lot of parents who thought a hospital was a daycare and once they were admitted they left.

Unfortunatly due to my c-section I was not even allowed to have my little guy room in with me. The nurses would come and get him each night at 8pm and being him back the next morning at 8am- it was AWFUL!

Both boys slept on my chest or in the crook of my arm during my hospital stay (one night each time). DH slept on a fold-out cot when Griff was born and when Reese was born I had a room with two beds, DH slept in the extra bed.

Our hospital SUCKED. Chuck sat in the chair for most of the first night and went home with a very sore back for the second night.
Katie slept in bed with me from the moment she was born

They let you co-sleep in the hospital? I never knew that I felt my other little ones where so far away in there little plastic bed there. I was hoping for a homebirth with this one but our money wont let us so we are going to have a hospital birth again hope I can co-sleep there.

Willow slept with me when she was born, they brought a twin-size cot for my husband and he was right beside us

last week when she was really sick with rotavirus and needed to be in the hospital overnight ... no cosleeping allowed the nurses said i could do it if i wanted and they'd "look the other way" but the only beds they had for parents were pull-out armchair beds, about 24" wide! we napped in it with her on my chest, but with her IV line she was honestly safer in their "crib." i put "crib" in quotes, because look at what they provided us with ...

if she ever needs to be in the hospital again, i'm going to a different one that will roll in a regular-size bed for the moms!
