Default Cosleeping with toddler and newborn?

Hello. I just have a quick question? A little bit about me... I am 33wks pregnant and have a 2 year old son. My son goes to sleep in his own room/big boy bed, but ends up in bed with me (husband is deployed) in the middle of the night. I love sleeping with him, especially with my husband gone. DH has been deployed or away pretty much all of my son's two years. But when DH is home he loves that DS sleeps with us too.
Anyway, I'm getting a little nervous about our new edition and how it will effect the family bed situation. Did anybody here ever have to deal with a toddler and newborn in their bed at the same time? I will have a side sleeper attached to my bed for baby, but I know that baby will probably end up in bed with us.
Thanks for reading.

my DD1 was 2.5 when DD2 arrived 6 weeks ago. DH and I transitioned DD1 into a toddler bed at the end of our bed when she turned 2, but in October or so we stopped her from coming into our bed. Having her close to us is great because if she fusses at night she's right there, since DD2 was born she hasn't even asked to come into our bed since we've set the limits.. I would still love to sleep with DD1 but we just don't have room. I did sleep with both DS and DD1 in a twin bed but I never slept in the same bed as their dad so it was fine...

could you move your ds into your room as well so that closeness is still there but he's not actually taking up the space in your bed?

I'm sure you will be able to work out whatever is best for your family, thats just my own experience.

We coslept with dd (2) and ds (newborn) for a couple of months before we transitioned dd to her own bed. It went fine. dh kept dd close to him and I has ds close to me, because I was breastfeeding. All went fine.

I sleep between my 3 year old and my 13 day old. It has worked out really well so far.

I have done this as well, I just slept between them cuz its not safe for a toddler to be next to a new born. It worked out really well for us and now our 2 boys co-sleep with eachother in a double bed in their own room. Good Luck!
