Default Co-sleeping ?s

Hi everyone!

I've been trying to co-sleep w/ my son Aidan & I don't think it's working for me. For some reason, I cannot get comfortable when I try to nurse him. Can someone post a link w/ some good pictures on how to nurse in bed?

Also, when it comes time to change the diaper, do you just do it in bed, or do you move your baby to a different location to change the diaper? Last night, I changed Aidan's diaper & he just peed everywhere! It was more of a rough night for me than a good night's sleep.

I can't help with the breastfeeding but I cosleep with Kaitlyn a lot and I always just change her diaper in bed so I don't make her wake up all the way.

I've been co-sleeping with Hallie full time now for about 6 months....I didn't master the laying down nursing until she was bigger at about 5-6 months....I found it too hard to nurse her laying down when she was small....I used to sit on my bed with a pillow and nurse her that way.....And I always just changed her in bed..Until she got old enough to not really need a change....She still wakes up during the night and I dont change her because if I do she thinks its play time and thats not good at 3 am!!!
Good Luck!!!

Like Allison, I couldn't nurse laying down until Sidney was about 5 months old. I just sat up in bed, put Sidney up on a pillow, and nursed in the football position. It even got to the point where I could actually fall asleep like that, though I wouldn't recommend it!

Oh, and same for the changing in bed. I don't change her in the middle of the night anymore unless it's a poopy diaper... which is almost never. It wakes her up too much. But, I do keep a few diapers and wipes on my bedside table for morning changes so I don't have to get up if I'm feeling lazy.

I used to fall asleep sitting up...It wouldn't be too long though...But once you can nurse lying down it is easier.....

Nursing in bed when they are little is hard! It takes time to get use to! But I did it with all 3 when they were little! Usually what I did was either put my arm under their head, my boob, and their shoulder with my hand on their butt. That works okay. Or I would put a pillow right by my belly so I could lean on the pillow on my belly and be able to get my boob positioned in their mouth correctly! That was the easiest! It takes time to figure out though what works best for you! I didn't change them unless they absolutely had to be changed! Good luck!!!

we have been nursing and sleeping together since maile was 2 mos old ,.like my thread i posted, there are great positives on this what i do it lie on my side and maile eats that way then i can lean over and have her nurse the other booby thats what we call it, i never had a changing table so i changer her in the bed only only if her diaper is so full I am all for changing immediately but at night she is in a deep sleep all night , she sleeps from 7-6 everynight and when she wakes up nurses a few times now she is 15 mos old and she sleeps in the middle , since i have s sleigh bed and its pretty high i put pillows 3 tall on the other side of her , she isnt a real big mover , its all how you raise her to sleep with you , some people put thier children in a crib during the day but we never had one, i wasnt into all that baby stuff since i knew i was going to nurse and have her co sleep with me but since my husband is gone she sleeps right next to me after about the 2 week of her sleeping with me in the beginning i feel everything she does and we sleep with the covers way down she kicks em off most of the time, and when i do wake up in the middle night i always check on her.
if you need any help let me know , since i have been nursing and sleeping with her for so long,
