How do you breastfeed lying down? I'm a spasm and can't get the hang of it.
Thanks
Judi

Do you mean lying on your side and nursing? I do this very rarely due to the fact that my ds has reflux but sometimes I do and it just takes a lot of practice. Maybe your dh can help the first few times.

When Krissy was little, I'd put a pillow behind my back and behind her and I'd kinda lean onto the pillow and she'd be propped on her side. Then for the other side, I'd just scoot back a tad bit and lean forward using my arm as support. Just play around with positions until you find the perfect boob to mouth match

when i nursed Izzy i would lay on my side (witch ever side i was nursing from) and put my arm under her head a little and when she emptied that side i would just lean the other side over so i wouldnt have to move her. hope that helped.

I lay on my side with a pillow behind my back. Dylan lays next to me so his head is just below my arm pit and his feet hit my lower abdomen. We sleep like that for half the night. around 3am I'll change his diaper and flip to the other side so he can nurse/soothe on the other breast until morning.

sometimes i put Brooke on a pillow to help prop her up then i lay on my side and nurse her that way! Then we wake in the middle of the night and I change her and she eats off the other side!! ( I just lean over. if that makes sense)

When we were nursing, I would (as most other repliers here) lay on my side (whichever side she was eating from) and lay her on her side facing me with a pillow or rolled up blanket behind her back. I couldn't quite get the hang of "leaning over" for her to nurse on the other side, so I just rolled over and set her up the same way on the other side. Learning how to do that nearly saved my sanity! There's no telling how many extra hours of sleep I got after figuring that out.
