Baby sleeping on my chest

HI. new to this board. My first, Duncan Maddox, was born October 13th. Had planned on him sleeping in cosleeper, but he just rolls around, spits up and fusses. He is a total "kangaroo care" baby and is mostly restful when laying stomach to stomach with me. he loves to sleep tucked in under my chin against my chest and stomach. that is about the only way I can get him to truly fall and stay asleep. I know all the "Back to sleep" dogma, and the co-sleeping controversies (my parents have a real issue with it), but we sleep great and I feel completely in sync with his breathing and sleeping patterns. I wake up with his stirring, even the slightest waking, which is good so I can assess if he is hungry, hot, cold or just stirring. I dont turn in my sleep and so sleeping on my back all night is very comfortable for me. I do worry, that I will admit, but our sleep pattern is so connected, that I cant imagine missing any danger he may have. Is there a major threat of sleeping on his stomach if he is that close to me? Does anyone else who co-sleeps have their infant sleep like Duncan does? To me it feels more secure than him beside me in the bed.
