Preparing 1st child for new baby

Hi,
I'm about to have a baby and am wondering what tips anyone has or used for preparing the 1st child for a new baby... I've read lots of great things, but it's great to hear from other AP parents too!

I think a nice new baby doll and a doll sling is in order

I think you can do a lot of teaching/talking/playing about what's going to happen w/ a little sling and doll.

Oh ya, noticed you are in Canada.. that web site is based out of the City I live in (I'm in Northern Ontario... I get all of my crunchy mommy stuff from this lady

Glad to see so many Canadians over this way! We're hoping to be dealing with this "issue" in the next year as well.

I'm be watching for some more ideas. The baby sling is a great one. My DD has one that she likes to carry around her teddy in all the time already. Although he usually gets tossed to the side and replaced with her sippy cup lately.
