Did anyone use their slings past a year? I was still using mine at a 18 months because DS really seemed to want to know what I was up to when I was preparing food, for example, and I didn't have enough hands to hold him and work on other things.
We still use it with my three year old from time to time.
Of course, she's only 32 pounds, so she's below the weight limit. But 32 pounds is too much to carry at the zoo without a sling!!
My younger daughter doesn't do as well in the sling, so we don't use it much at all with her. I imagine it'll be instrumental when the third one comes along!!

I wore Griff up to about 18 months old. Of course, I didn't sling him as often and in as many different ways as I do Reese, so I think we'll wear Reese longer. I didn't know about mei tais and wraps until Griff was older and Reese was born, and by then Griff didn't want to be worn at all.
My twins loved the stroller and Didn't really care to be carried anywhere from the time they were quite small.. but my oldest was really high needs from day 1.. I wore him all the time for the 1st year and here and there until he was about two. He hated the stroller and when we went for long walks or long shopping trips it was great to be able to let him walk and pull out the sling to help me carry him when he needed a break.
My new baby is much like the 1st and lives in the sling at the moment.. I assume he will be much like my 1st and the sling will be around for a looong looong time

My dd is 20 months now and we're still using ours. She's been in it every day since day one. Now it's mostly for quick in and out of the car trips. I make a post office trip daily and when I run in and pop her in her sling and I have my hands free for everything else. It's so much easier than fussing with a stroller, but even then, I wouldn't have my hands free when I need to. I honestly don't know what I'd do without my sling.
I still use my sling from time to time, summer is 17 months old now its handy when I have all the children with me or if we are doing ourdoorsy stuff where the grouns is rugged like at the childrens farm or places with steps - she is not heavy so its just as well I guess. I do use my mamas and paps prem if I am out shopping because of the huge basket it has underneath
These photos of Hollie were taken on my
phone camera so they are not of good quality.
However I felt I just had to show off
how grown up looking she is now.
I used my ring sling at least occaisionally for kids as old as three, although I did get a Sara's Ride for dd when I was towards the end of my second trimester with ds (they are two years nine months apart) and found it easier for tandem wearing a toddler and an infant. The infant was in an OTSB.
My big kids are eighteen and fifteen years old and Nojo and OTSB were the newest, hottest things back then.
I didn't start using a sling as much until my DD was past a year. She is 25 months old now and I still use it time to time. I have a Storch wrap made into a sling and a Didy wrap made into a sling. They are great for holding toddler weight. Actually, I used one of them to carry my DS at the zoo when he was 5. He was about 40 lbs then.
