How long did you co sleep with your children, those with older children?

Our 4 year old son became very interested in his room in the past year, so he has transitioned at his own speed to his own bed. He is welcome at any time to come into our room, and probably does every second night or so for a bit, but mostly sleeps in his own room! I like how he did it at his own tempo... and that it shows that when you give them ownership over their own decision, while showing them how special their room is that they can find that a special change to being a "big boy".
