Default Help with sidecar arrangement

Hi,
I would like to co-sleep with my son in a side-car arrangement. He is in a bassinet next to our bed now, but is outgrowing the length. I've looked at the Arm's Reach side sleepers, but wonder about when they become mobile. Will it be safe? I assume I'd wake up if he tried to crawl over the side, but I'm worried I may not. He is 6 mos old next week. I would like to co-sleep until he is one. I rather not use the crib...it has become playland for him during the day, and he really doesn't associate that with sleep. Plus, it is just large to have in our room.

Anyone use the side-car or have an suggestions? Thanks!

Hmmm.. good question. I have a co-sleeper but don't actually use it, the family bed works out better for us.

I would assume that you wouldn't have anymore trouble with him crawling out of the sleeper. My guess is that he would try to crawl out through the bed and that would wake you up~~ never thought of it really!!!

I have this wooden co-sleeper and it's pretty deep~~ not as deep as a crib of course but check out the photo on the website~~ you can really tell the depth in the picture with the father and son reading~~ there's lots of rail on the sides.

HTH!

Thanks Cathy!
I seriously considered the bassinet, but talked with dh and we are going to move his crib into our room. Our bedroom is large, and if we put the wheel on the crib, it should work well. We just pull it away from our bed during the day.

We just took off one side of the crib and pushed it up to our bed. We filled in any gaps with blankets and it worked great. Corrie
