AP mamas roll call ~Please sign in~
This is a discussion on AP mamas roll call ~Please sign in~ within the Attachment Parenting forums, part of the Parenting Babies & Toddlers category; I'm pretty new here--I found this place searching for a new AP board while MDC (Mothering) is down.
...
Hello I am a newbie to this board. I am a AP mamma to Karin who is 2 1/2 years old and Trystin who is 8 months old. I am excusivly breastfeeding trystin. We jsut started solinds not to long ago. He will not for the life of him take formula. Its great LOL. I am looking for instructions on how to make a sling. I never knew about them! I feel so deprived LOL. Trystin would LOVE that. I folow his cues on everything and he is one of the happiest babies I have ever seen. Everyone remarks about it. I usualy give him homemade food. But I cant to cloth diapers. I am horrible about laundrey LOL. Glad to meet everyone.

Hello....I'm Kristy, mommy to my almost 15month old son Payton Emery.
We breastfeed, cloth diaper, sling, and co-sleep. Payton is not circ'd, but he is vax'd. I also made all his baby food, and when he wasn't eating my stuff, I fed only all organic. We also are a "mostly" all organic family now that he's on solids.
Hi, I'm Laura, AP mom to Daniel (3 1/2) and Noah (21 months) I was somewhat AP when Daniel was born; I breastfed him (till he self-weaned) and co-slept and didn't let him CIO, but that's about it, he was in sposies, and I had him circ'ed because my husband wanted it (which broke my heart, but I really wasn't educated about it and just assumed it was cleaner, etc.). The more I learned about AP though, the more I practiced it so I was much more AP with Noah than I was at first with Daniel. Noah was also breastfed until he self-weaned (2 months ago ) and coslept till very recently. When he was little, I slung him a lot and we still do when we are out and about. Noah is not circ'ed and he is cloth diapered (daniel is PT). Daniel had most of his vaxes until about 1 1/2 when he had a bad reaction from one, and I stopped. Noah is not vaxed at all yet, and I'm still debating about starting, selectively, when he turns two or not doing them at all. I also plan on homeschooling when the kids are older.

I just rejoined these boards. I was on the Due in June 2003 (aka Junes Jewels) back when these boards were still part of epregnancy.com! Anyway after a hospital birth (Bradley and Hypnobirthing w/ a midwife and doula) , I went very AP and didn't feel I fit in anymore w/ those moms. Now I've gotten even crunchier and am so happy to see more APers on these boards. So I joined up again!
I need more boards like I need a hole in my head! I'm the moderator of a yahoo group APChicagoSouth. So if you're in the area, please check us out.
BTW, my name is Christine. I'm 33. DH is Ron, 34. We have one DD, Camilla Antionette (Cami) who will be 2 in 13 days! We still bf'd, co-sleep, selectively vax, plan to homeschool (starting w/preschool in the fall), respond to her needs, seek alternative/natural/homeopathic remedies and I am ADDICTED to baby carriers.
Hi, Im not you're typical ap mama, though I just got the book on it. I'm 21, and my DS was exclusively bf for 3 weeks until we had a terrible bout with thrush that gave him a shallow suck and depleated my milk supply to almost non-existance. We he's bottle-nursed after he's emptied what's in my breast and gets ebm or formula, we feed on demand. I stand by my descion to use disposable diapers and to do all vax. We will use GD, we only co-sleep during daytime naps as my DH is too sound of a sleeper to safely do so at night, in addition to DS' sleep apnea. http://http://www.bebesounds.com/pro...escription.asp the monitor is well worth looking into if you have a family history of sleep apnea, sids or are just a parinod momma... if it ever goes off you'll be glad you had one. My son had stopped breathing for more than 20 seconds when the monitor went off and it took me at least another 15-20 to get to him, where he still wasnt breathing and had to be woken up before he started to breath... The crib monitor is a god send and could not sleep soundly without it.
Hi! I'm Erin, 22, and an AP mom to Clara. I practice breastfeeding (possibly extended), co-sleeping, cloth diapering, no CIO, babywearing, delaying solids (and when I introduce solids they will be all homemade and organic), and using gentle discipline.
Hello :-) My name is Jennifer. We are a cloth diapering, breastfeeding, co-sleeping, baby wearing, attatchment parenting family! I have 3 kids but do hope to be able to add to our family soon
I have a 9 1/2 month old DS, born December of last year. We had an awesome waterbirth attended by midwives. We've been breastfeeding, co-sleeping, baby-wearing, cloth diapering since the day he was born. I don't vax, and DS wasn't circ'd. I'm also delaying solids - we're slowly starting to introduce them.
I believe in child-led weaning.
I'm Jennifer, mom to Emmaline who is 4 and Catie who is about 7.5 months. We are the usual AP/Natural Family Living suspects....cloth diapering, sling wearing (my current favorite is a Mei Tai from Cat Bird Baby), exclusive and extended nursing, natural birthing, no spanking, etc.
We breastfeed (and will probably be extended), co-sleep, sling, use cloth, we don't CIO, will use gentle discipline, just started solids a couple days ago and only feed her homemade organic babyfood. She will also be raised vegetarian like us.
hi, my name's steph and i'm new to ap and this forum. my family is a work in progress... my three-year old daughter lily and i have been living with my fiance, jacob (not her biological dad) for a year now and he and i are doing our best as young parents - 22 and 23 yrs old - to figure it all out. i just started reading "the natural child" by jan hunt and it makes 100 times more sense than most of the advice i've been given about parenting.
we were already hippies in training before ap, we buy organic when we can, try to conserve and play in the forest a lot i've been into menstrual activism lately, too (divacups are freakin' awesome!) and i'm hoping to get into birthingway college in a couple of years to study midwifery.
I'm Michelle, I have one little guy, Christian, who's 6 months, and I'm about 20 weeks along with our second. Definite surprise this time, but we've lost a baby before (in 2003) so we'll take whatever we get! Anyways, I've been BF my son since he was born, he doesn't eat many solids still, so it's mostly milk, and I'm planning on not really weaning him when his baby sister is born, I would like to tandem nurse them both. He sleeps in our bed, sometimes the side car attatchment, but mostly our bed, we do use disposables, but everything else we do, the no CIO, etc. is more AP style. So I'd call myself 99.9% AP mama. Hope to meet you all soon, hope the board gets more active, it would be fun to do more chatting with you all.
Thanks.
New here, just checking in...looks like the board may have moved? I'm Jodi, I have one baby, she's 4 months tomorrow (Isabella). I'd love to know if there's another area for AP moms and dads now...
Hi!! I'm Brenda, mother to 4. Chris is 16, Mikayla 10, JJ is 4 and my Elias is 6 mos old. I became a sahm when i had Elias. hey, I have only posted here off and on over the years, last time over a year ago I got trolled! anyway I thought I better re introduce myself .... My name is Amanda I am from Northenr Ireland, I have 4 children, Ashley 10, Ellis 3, Hollie 4, and Summer 1. I am still breast feeding Summer I delayed her solids for almost a year, I breast fed all the other children too. I cloth diaper sometimes, I used to more but it got out of hand now the winter and rain is here. I DO vaccinate. I am about to start home educating my youngest three children. We make all our own foods from scratch and tend not to buy processed foods very often apart from the odd tin heinz soup! My friends say I am an earth mother but I just do what feels right.
These photos of Hollie were taken on my
phone camera so they are not of good quality.
However I felt I just had to show off
how grown up looking she is now.
