Anyone else have a very curious pumpkin who wants to know about, look at, and talk about body parts all the time? Well, not all the time, but quite a bit, or out in public!
I probably brought this up before, my memory is shot, so if I did...sorry.
I didn't think this stage would come so soon. I am trying to remain very calm and answer things as best I can. We do have a few nicknames for body parts and functions, but also use the correct names a lot too.
I think I need to read up on this topic, or get some ideas, of what others might be doing.
Orion has been asking things like; when he will grown whiskers on his penis, if I have a penis, or if he will get hair on his butt, stuff like that. He can't walk in a store's underwear section without getting excited over the bra's and wanting to touch the big ones! Now that has to be in the DNA, because his Daddy only likes the big ones too, and I Don't happen to have large breasts, so they are out of luck here!
I swear you would think we ran around nude a lot, and we really don't, not that I have a problem with that at all. It is just that: Number one, it is very cold in WI half the time, and number two I have never been all that free with my body, especially since I got so darn fat about 10 years ago.
And, my DH showers at work 90% of the time, so Orion isn't seeing him that much either.
We don't let him watch anything like that on TV, other than a stray commercial I suppose.
Please tell me your kids are talking about this stuff too. I am worried I have a little pervert on my hands!
Today Orion made an announcement after he and daddy got out of the bathroom at a resaurant. He got back to the table raised his hands above his head and exclaimed loudly, "Daddy tooted!". Boy was DH's face red. Luckily it was slow in there, and people within earshot had little kids too, so probably understood! LOL
Then Daddy told me the whole time he was using the bathroom, Orion was trying to peek between his legs and asking if his penis was hairy! LOL He took Orion in to go potty, and then decided to go himself once Orion was done. I think he may bring Orion back out before he trys that again. So DH said he was glad that Orion talked about the tooting, rather than the hairy penis! Whew!
Just a typical day around here.
BTW, even though Orion seems curious, he has never touched himself that I am aware of. He never even tries, not even in the tub. He even wants me or DH to poke his penis down in the potty, and doesn't want to try it himself.
