Default Hi Ladies New to the Site and Desperately Need Your Advice and Support

Hi Ladies,
Hi Ladies New to the Site and Desperately Need Your Advice and Support
I am 26 yrs old and my dh is 31. We have been married for 2yrs this August and have been TTC since we said I do. For the past 3 months we have been seriously TTC. The first month we did family planning with our OB and informed him that we haven't been using any contraceptives since the vows with no luck. He ordered a progesterone test which came back a 5. So he suggested we use Clomid.

The second month he tried us on 50mg clomid. I was on an emotional rollercoaster. I cried about everything. I actually had my hopes up as it got closer to my expected AF date. The day came and went with no sign of AF. I couldn't hold out any longer so I took a PT but it was neg. Ofcourse AF came knocking at the door a few hours after I wasted $17.00. I was devasted, especially since I am always on time day 26 like clock work. I didn't want to go through the usual its negative again with my dh so I just kept it bottled in.

Its now month 3. After taking a progesterone blood level test, which came back a 6, my dr thought we should double the dose. I am on a new dose of clomid 100mg. I thought we should quadriple the dose. With this new round of clomid, I feel as if I am at 6flags with my emotions. I am a very optimistic person, but I am tired of the let down. Is there anything else, we should be doing? I am on day 4 of the clomid now.

Thanks!!

Welcome!
You have support here girl. I am so sorry that TTC has been a hard road for you so far.
I am praying that the clomidworks for you. A lot of times the first time girls do not get pg on it, but it seems that the 100mg or the 150mg seems to be the lucky doses. Also Clomid can mess you up a bit, and if you take a day or two longer then normal to get af it is not uncommon.
If you have a Dollar Tree close to you they have 1 dollar tests. I love them because if I test and hours later get af which hashappen to me, I only waiste 1 dollar instead of 17.
I want to wish you luck, and just come and post when ever you need us!

I have taken plenty of Clomid in my TTC Journey, but luckily for me it hasn't caused really any side effects. My new doc gave me the option to switch to Femara (Letrozole) if I wanted. It is more expensive, but supposedly it doesn't have the side effects that Clomid has. So you may want to ask your doc about that...... Good luck to you!
