Default Hi guys!

It's been a LONG time since I've been here.. Needed some time away this summer.
It's been quite a summer though. We found out that there's no possible way for DH and I to have bio children.
We want so badly to become parents though so we're trying to adopt! Very excited for it!
We spent the summer getting home study approved and the fall so far getting our profile made to be shown to birth mothers.
Now it's the waiting game!!
So many new faces here, Not sure if anyone is even left from last spring lol!!!
Hopefully all for good happy reasons!!

Allie. I don't know if I remember you from before but welcome back and thanks for the update.
I see in your siggie that DH has no but have you thought about IUI with Donor. WAY less $$$ and then the child would be part yours.

Just a though. I know several people going thru that now.

We have considered donor. Due to my tubes being blocked though we were told it would be a big process since i'd have to do IVF. My company doesn't cover IVF so it would cost about the same as adoption but have no definite ending.
I'm still considering that route for future children but for now I am not sold. I just wish that there was some possible way for BOTH DH and I to have bio children. it has taken us alot to get to the level of acceptance that we are at.. although trust me our moods and stuff on this fluctuate daily!!
We have always planned to adopt though. We'd discussed it before we even got married (really I've dreamed of being a mommy in more depth then anything through out my life!!). We planned to have two children quick and easy (who knew that young twenty somethings can't always do that???) then adopt a third child, likely from china. Welll.. we're not old enough to adopt from china, and we are adopting our first.. so things have changed but what can you do I guess?

Hi Allie,

I've been a long time member of this board and a 3+ years TTC'er too. I just wanted to toss out an idea to you about adoption.

Adopting from the foster care system is absolutely FREE. Since your home study is done and you've been approved for adoption.......becoming an adoptive foster home would be quick and easy for you.

Dh and I are foster parents but we're not an adoptive home right now. If we can't conceive on our own we will likely ask to become an adoptive home.

We definatly considered that. And I think it is likely we'll do that next time around. We so strongly want an infant though this time through that we want to stick with agency adoption. In addition I feel like I've been beat up so much by my infertility this year that I don't know if I'm strong enough to see what so many of the children in the foster system have been put through. I could be just making incorrect assumptions though there. It is amazing how little we all know about adotion and all that falls under it's umbrella until it really affects us.
We're currently being shown to two birthmothers.. fingers are crossed!!!
