Wow..........it's been quite some time since I've been on this board. I think I last posted my BFP announcement and now I'm back to post my baby update. It's so hard to keep up on all the boards!
Ok, I had a phenominal pregnancy. No morning sickness, carried my weight well, and just loved every second of it. And then about 28 weeks the round ligament and pubic bone separation pain became horrible, but I was still in good spirits. At 29 weeks my cervix was shortening and I was showing signs of pre-term labor, so I went in for steriod shots just in case baby came early. Things were status quo until Dec. 6....32 weeks I was put on bed rest because I was 1 cm dialated and over 50% effaced. Bed rest and the pubic bone/round ligament pain was not fun. I had 2 bouts of false labor. I begged my doc to induce me at 36 weeks, but no luck. BUT, at 37 weeks, he agreed. So.......
about 9am on Monday January 7th, I went in to have my membranes stripped. 10ish I went to the hospital and told them I'm 90% effaced and 5cm dialated. Got hooked up to monitors......I'm still not uncomfortable, but can feel the contractions. Turns out I know the anethesiologist and I get my epidural at 11, because I know I'm going to have one and why not be pain free the whole time? Around 12 doc breaks my water. About 1ish they started a pitocin drip because I'm not dialating as quickly as they thought I would. Turns out the pitocin made the baby's heart rate drop, so off the p I went. Waited it out for a bit while I was on oxygen. Then about 2-3 I was really starting to progress and I think about 3:30-4:00 I was told I could start pushing if I wanted. Baby was so low it wasn't going to take long.....and it didn't. She was born just before 5pm.
Amarah Susan Petersen (Uh-mar-ah...short a, not like Sarah)
7lbs 10 oz and 19 inches long
She's been WONDERFUL! She sleeps from 10-4, then from 4 til 8. She nurses great. She seems to only cry when she needs something. She's just been a dream baby.
The whole ttc process is in my blog. If you scroll down to Journal entries and Photo Gallery you can read all about the journey and see all the belly pictures and all the baby photos.
Here are a couple just for fun. Sorry if it's rude to just come and post after all this time, but Holly invited me!
