We went to storytime at our new library this morning. We got there late (because I didn't know there was storytime), but we went in anyway. They were starting a craft. I asked Riley if he wanted to do it. He acted all shy (he is very shy) and said no. The librarian leading the storytime came by and asked if he wanted to do the craft, and he said OK. But she walked on to another child and Riley didn't start in on the craft. I encouraged him to sit down and start, but he didn't. He just wanted to hang on my leg and act shy.

So...

I went to the librarian and told her that I thought he would respond better to a "teacher" than to mommy, and asked if she'd get him started. Of course, he jumped right in, made the craft, and was very proud of it.

Silly kids.
