Hi My name is Angela and I am 22. I am also new to the group. I just found out that i am pregnant. I am 5 weeks. This is my first baby. Well I will start out by telling everyone a little about me to get things started.
I am a receptionist at a podiatrist office. I have worked there for a little over a year and I love it. I go to care homes with one of the doctors that i work with and we cut there toe nails. All the patients love me and i love them also. I got married on August 28th 2004. Just a few months ago.
Me and my husband are both "little people" dwarfs. The type of dwarfism we have is achondroplasia. We have a 50% chance of our baby being a little person like me and him, we also have a 25% chance of our baby being average size not a dwarf, and the other 25% chance we have is that the baby could be double dominant. That is where the baby will get 2 dwarf genes one from me and one from my husband. The babies do not live because they have so many severe problems. The baby is usally stil born or they die after birth. The longest a baby has lived that was double dominant was a year. But i am so very scared. Ever sence i found out that i was pregnant i have just been to worried to get excited until i know that the baby is ok. I think about it all the time. But i know there is only one person that knows and that can help me and that is God. I pray all the time. Last night I couldn't fall asleep thinking about it. I will get tested when i am 10 weeks to see if the baby is ok. But i am just asking for everyones prayer. Please pray for my baby. I have always wanted a baby ever sence i was a kid i always played with babies. When i meet new babies they just fall in love with me. Now God has blessed me with my own baby and now i just pray that it is ok. So please pray for my baby!

First of all WELCOME to our group. We are a small group but so many of us here understand what your going through in some aspect. Your story has touched me.

Were all born with something that we can pass onto our children. Most of them our good but some can be bad. I think it really depends on how with look at the situation. Your child is going to be fine. I pray it and I believe it!

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for bringing Angela to this board so that we may join in prayer for her and her unborn child. God you have blessed this woman with a miracle. We pray Lord that this child we be brought into the world full of love, health, and happiness. We know and believe Lord that any obstacle or worry that comes in our way, you will see us through. Please give Angela the peace that she so deserves throughout this pregnancy. In Jesus name we pray and ask this blessing! Amen!

You are in my thoughts and prayers sweetie! Also the little bean and your DH! I remember all of this stuff from Genetics in high school, and there are "little people" in my best friend's family. All of their babies were born healthy, but they were all "little people" too. I pray that everything will be ok, keep us updated!

God is with you and your little one. And please don't give those stats too much credence. They say that if you toss a coin, you have a 1/3 chance of heads, a 1/3 chance of tails, and a 1/3 chance of it landing on its edge. But the truth is that you can toss the coin a 100 times, and have it come up heads 100 times. It's a matter of chance. And no amount of stats can change that. You rest easy. He's with you. And with a name like Angela, how can it go wrong?
