Default HSG Schedule

Ladies,

I scheduled my HSG for this Tuesday. Only thing is AF has to go. You can't have any bleeding with this procedure. So, I hope God doesn't mind me asking prayers for this. However, can you pray she goes away so I can't get this done. Just another thing to check off my list.

I'm definitely not looking forward to it. Actually, I'm scared . So if you could say a little prayer that it's not bad. I really want this done before I go on vacation this week and before I O. Thanks for any prayers you can give. Also, if you have had this done can you give me any advice?

Default Re: HSG Schedule

Hi again, Misty!!

I had an HSG done after my ruptured ectopic. I would strongly recommend you take Advil before the procedure. I think I took 2 before, but I think I'd take 4 if I had to do it again (and make sure you eat if you take 4!) Basically, I was told that there would be some cramping, but I didn't expect it to be so all-of-a-sudden. When the dye was injected and hit the cervix, I felt a flash of sharp pain, but it was over pretty quickly. I had little pain after that. So, I think if you're warned to just brace yourself for that one moment, it's not that bad at all. I've known plenty of other people to have HSGs that have agreed with the one-bit-of-pain-and-then-it's-over description. I don't want to give you anything to worry about, but I think knowing exactly what to expect helps. The good news is that you're apparently more likely to get pg in the 3 - 4 months following the test!!

Good luck!!!

Karen
