I went in to see my dr this pm, after having really sharp pains from my cervix all morning at about 5 min intervals. I was freaking out, and figured if I didn't go today, then I would be a nightmare to be around for the holidays.
So.. all is well, cervix still closed and looking 'normal' I got to hear baby's H/B and cried with relief.
I was able to tell my doc how I was feeling. How even after good u/s's I am great for a couple of days and then the feeling of doom sets in. I find it so hard to be positive sometimes I can't shake it. She was really great, she said it was really understandable and invited me to pop in to the office (no appointment necessary) to hear the h/b whenever I needed to. She said she has had other patients who have gone in twice a week even, and she doesn't mind.
I can't tell you how happy I was to hear that. We have decided we can't run to a doppler rental, but this is as good! I just wanted to pass this on , to let any of you know to do the same whenever you need to. It's hard sometimes not to feel that we are 'bothering' the doctor, but they are OUR service, and it's our right to go in whenever we need to.
As for the pains, she just guesed it was probably stretching, or a nerve. It's gone off a little now, so I will relax a bit.
