icon16 1st Miscarriage.....Is it ok to try again right away?

Hello...I am new to this group and I am glad I'm came across it while searching the web for answers on miscarriage. I experienced my first miscarriage on 4/7/2008. I was 6 weeks along. I think I am still in shock because I wanted this child so badly. I have 2 beautiful sweet boys that I love to death, so we wanted to try for a girl. So far I've bled for 4 days and I'm am still spotting. Is it ok to try again right after you stop bleeding? I know the doctors recommend waiting at least 2 months

.

I only said "yes" because unless it was a traumatic incident from your body's POV, getting pg again right away does NOT predispose you to having another loss. A majority of women have at least one miscarriage and and have many many healthy pregnancies and children afterwards. Of course there are women who have trouble staying pregnant for one reason or another and that's a whole different set of circumstances!

If you are ready mentally, and your body is strong and healthy, if it was me, I'd be open to it. That's just me I had a D&C at 7 weeks in Dec 05 and my Ob told me no sooner than 6 weeks...for healing purposes! He did recommend 6 months but told me to go for it when I felt I was ready.

Thank you for your reassuring response. It makes me feel better to know that. My partner has taken it a little harder than I because he is afraid of something happening to me. I think he needs a little bit more time to heal mentally.

My doc recommended waiting at least through one complete normal cycle, preferably two before trying again. He also recommended waiting until I was ready emotionally.

I think as long as your body is doing ok, and you and your partner are ready, it should be fine.
