I figured this would be a good way to get to know one another a little better... What method of natural childbirth are you using or have you used in the past?

If you chose other or combination, please let us know what you used/studied...

I put Bradley Method even though I also use hydrotherapy and use a lot of the concepts taught by Ina May Gaskin.

i want to go natural... but havent decided ona method.. or if there will be any .

i was medicated with my DS and really want to go natural this time around.... time for me to get to reading up on some of the methods

We are going to be doing Hpnobirthing(mainly this), Tub, using the birthing ball.

With DD we used Bradly, tub, birthing ball and another midwife came in to help out toward the end of my birth and she knew hynobirthing which I just love.

I used walking, breathing, rocking, the ball, got on all fours with the ball at my chest (this was great but hurt my knees).

I am a wimp, and if I can do it, you can do it. I had the Bradley Emotional Signpost of giving up, and asked for an epidural (after being awake and not being allowed to eat or drink for 24 hours, and 10 hrs of pitocin). I refused to let them check me first, and as he was prepping the equipment I told them I had to POOP, NOW. They basically ignored me, finished the epi, but didn't put in a dose b/c the nurse thought I was complete--- I was. So it was, in the end, purposely and accidentally natural. There's no better way. But next time we'll do it at home... so we don't have the water-broken-timeclock. That about killed me.

Bradley Method-ish with DS my natural birth and Lamaze with DD my epi birth

I voted none, though I did read the Bradley Method book and Birthing From Within and loved both. My method with my 2 vbacs was just "hop in the bathtub and wait for it to be over!"

DH and I just finished our Hypnobirthing class before the holidays. 6-9 more weeks until we try it out!

I voted none... i went in with the full intent of an epidural LOL but it was too late. this time we are just going to roll with it and im going to use my husband as my support line, thats it. it was suggested that i read a couple books but i tried... and im soooo not a reader.

bradley here, althogh I have not looked into some of the other options...I might have to check into some alternatives. I like bradley, but I need a refresher course

Is there any method they reccomend for fast birthers?

Like, how to take the easy train?

hypnobirth.. haven't tried it before but i ordered a book from amazon about that.. i hope i have enough time before birth (June) to read it carefuly

I did some relaxation during my pregnancy with HOlloe and Ellis, For summer I studyied and practiced hypnobirthing in a big way .... when it came to the day I didnt need it LOL she was out so fast. Caught us all by surprise and looking back I actually asked for pain releief whilst in transition but it happened so fast I didnt need it! my birth was 2 whole minutes LOL

I think I was just really mentally prepared when the time came and didn't use any formal methods. I changed positions alot...squatting, all fours, sideways in bed, sitting in shower (hospital is still workinging on tubs), etc...

Oh and I counted my breaths through each contraction...1,2,3,4 were the worst pain, by 5,6,7,8 the contraction was coming down.

i have no idea... i'm thinking we're going to go with what works at the time... but I will definately be getting in the jacuzzi asap!

I'm planning on being strong and going without meds, but Lord knows how much of a whimp I am...
