Default Squats and pelvic pain question

Hi, I'm Melanie and I'm trying for a natural birth with my second.

I've been trying to lean back on my heels more when I squat during the day. (I naturally squat a lot, but I squat on my toes.) I've noticed that when I remember to do this, I wake up the next day with a pain right in the front center of my pelvic bones. I can move around and get it to go away, but it continues to come back for several days. Is there any way I can strengthen things gradually or do I have to give up on leaning back? Is squating on my toes useful? (I may do it this way because I have an old ankle injury that limits my ankle range of motion.) Any other ideas?

Thanks!!
