What was the length of hospital stay for your c-section? - Page 2

With DS, I had him at 7:19 pm on a Thursday and was home by 10:00 am on Saturday. So not even two full days, I wanted to stay longer and my insurance would have paid for it, but the hospital "encouraged" me to go home. Big mistake, this time I'm definitely staying the 4 days my insurance pays for. They're going to have to kick me out if they want me gone any earlier then that.

I had him at 7:41 Thursday evening and went home around noon on Sunday, so 3 nights. My doctor wanted me to stay until Monday, but I wanted to go home. I had a lot of help, so it worked out. I made sure to walk in the hospital, so I never got too sore.

I had P at 5:58 pm on Wednesday and was released at 11:15 am on Saturday.

I only got to stay 24 hours with my last section in 2003. But it was Ok with me b/c I had a 14 mo old at home. With my first section in 2002 I stayed 2 nights. She was born on a Thursday and I went home Saturday morning.

With both of my sections, I stayed two nights after the birth. First was born at 3am on a Friday and we left Sunday afternoon. Second was born 1:30pm on a Saturday and we left Monday afternoon.

Oh, btw, with my second son I just expected to be leaving after two nights and asked my doctor about being discharged when she came in to see me. I think she and my nurse were both surprised I didn't want to stay another night! I think the allowed length of stay for an uncomplicated c-section is 3 nights.

I had my daughter at 12:44pm on a wednesday and I was out Friday by 1...so just over 48 hours....

At the hospital I went to in Sydney, the standard stay for a C-section is 5 nights. I stayed 5, but was offered a 6th at the time, as I was having such trouble breastfeeding.

Same here-had her on Thursday night and got out on Sunday, but here they encouraged me to stay that long. I could have made a fuss to leave on Saturday, but they didn't really give me an option.

my son was born on a sunday morning and i left thursday afternoon. i remember commenting, one week after i was discharged, that i finally felt like i was good enough to be leaving the hospital now (at 11 days instead of 4). i had a ridiculously horrible recovery though. i actually ended up in the ER the day after i was discharged. i was dizzy and short of breath and felt like i was on the verge of "tripping out." my ob thought i had a blood clot on my lungs, but i didn't. i was anemic, but now that i know a little more about the side affects of the pain meds, i really think i was just having a bad reaction to the vicodin. anyway, just a horrible recovery. i didn't feel totally normal until 7 weeks post-partum. i would have lived at the hospital if i could have!! i really needed the self-reclining bed, and with the breathing issues, i just didn't feel "safe" at home.
you ladies that left after 2 days really put me to shame!!

My first I had at 1:45 am on Tues, was released 8am Weds (one night). The ins co called and threw a fit because they require a minimum 48 hour stay after C/S, but by the time I was called to go back I'd gotted settled in at home. That was a horrible hospital.

My second I had scheduled C/S and ended up staying about 5 days/nights. Less complications, but I was in a lot more pain and had developed allergies to the pain meds.

With my first, she was born at 11:44 on Sunday, and I was released Wed. afternoon. My second was born on a Tuesday afternoon, and I was home on Thursday morning.

Dd was born at 804 on Tuesday. We went home at 1200 Thursday.

I had my daughter on Friday at 1:00pm and went on Tuesday evening..
I was ready before then, but then passed out on Monday right after they told me I could go home.. dangitt.. .

hoping for shorter this time..

I spent 5 days in the hospital with each c-section, but all three boys went directly into the NICU and stayed 5 days - one of my sons stayed two weeks, so I think that's why they kept me 5 days too - so I could be with my baby while he was in the NICU.

Had an emergency section at 35 weeks and had to stay in hospital for 4 weeks as DD was in Special Care unit.

With my first I had the c-sec at 6:50pm and was home by 1pm on Sunday. Healing was horrible, ended up in ER for ripping my stiches open twice.

With my second I was had the c-sec at 9am on thurs and didn't get home until late Sunday afternoon. Healing the 2nd time was much better.
