What was the length of hospital stay for your c-section?

I am just curious, because I have found that was is the norm where I live does not seem to be the norm everywhere else.

Here, they encourage you to leave after two days, and if, like me, you did not feel well enough to leave after two days, you pretty much are on your own on day three. I didnt quite stay three days-it was more like 2 and a half when I was up to leaving (had the section on a Thursday night, left around midday Sunday).

They did assess my pain and ask if I felt I needed something for pain during the first 24 hours, but after that I had to page the nurses and ask for it if I wanted something.

This time with baby Ava, if all goes well, I am going to try to leave in two days. I will stay the third if it really, really hurts for me to move, but since they dont do much for you IN our hospital on days two and three, if I am feeling decent I would like to come home since my DH can help me out and attend to me pretty well at home.

My hospital tells people to expect to stay 5 days. But i felt great, i didnt ask for any pain meds at all after the c-section and was up and walking around. On day 2 the dr came in and asked me if i wanted to go home because i was doing so well. So i left because i really just wanted to get back to my house and sleep in my own bed and all of that.

I had my c-section on Fri. at 3:52 p.m, and I went home on Mon. at noon. I could have gone home 1 day earlier if I would have chosen to, but the nurses discouraged me from doing that.

I had Lexxie on a Monday morning & went home Wed. morning.
My insurance paid for 96 hours after the baby was born, but I wanted to go home.

4 days the 1st 2 times. This time I will have a c-section on 12/22 (if I last) & the dr. said I could go home on the 24th if I feel really good. If not then on the 25th. She figures since this will be my 3rd section I should handle it pretty well.

My insurance covers me for 4 days. I stayed 3 days after Ethan and 4 days with Caraline just so I could rest up going home to a toddler and newborn. This time, it all depends on how I feel but I am thinking 3 days will be it for me.

My situation was a bit unique this past time, but I went in on Sat. morning, my son had to be transferred to a children's hospital NICU...Sunday, I got a four hour leave to go see him, and Monday morning I was home. This one was waaaaay better than my first one!

My first was born Wednesday night and I stayed till Saturday evening (NICU baby- no rush to leave)

My second was born Sunday morning and I left Wednesday afternoon.

This baby was born Tuesday night and I left on Saturday (Another NICU baby and I ended up with a spinal headache and had a blood patch placed on Friday.)

My insurance has covered all of my stays.
