Re: pregnancy after a c-section
Most doctors recommend spacing c/s at least 18 months and some even say 24 months, especially if you want to try for a VBAC. So you would start TTC around a year after your first c/s.
That being said I got pregnant with my second 7.5 months after my first was born. We were going to wait until our first was a year old and start trying for number 2, but we were very blessed with our little surprise. I had no problems with my second pregnancy because of my first unplanned c/s. I had already decided after the birth of my first that all subsequent births would be planned c/s because my first was huge and I figured subsequent babies would be too. Alvin was over 11 lbs and his head 15 inches (the reason for my unplanned c/s, just could not push him out). I knew I made the right decision when Leanne was born and she was over 10 lbs and her head 15-1/4 inches!
Remember since you just gave birth a little over 2 months ago and you are breastfeeding, your AF will be out of whack and it might not even come because of the breastfeeding. I would say wait until 14 DPO and use an HPT and if negative, go have a blood test done just to be sure. My sister got pregnant with her second while on the pill and she missed her October period and got a BFN. Then when her November period was missed she tested again and got a BFP. She went on to deliver a happy, healthy baby girl last June!
Good luck and keep us updated! Your little girl is adorable!
