Default Introducing Myself and Question

Hello ladies!

My name is Kelly and i usually post over in the Due in January board. The ladies over there recommended i come over here as well as we found out 2 days ago during my first u/s that we will be welcomming our 1st and 2nd baby at the same time! We are scared but starting to become excited...it was a huge shock to say the least!

In any case, i've started thinking about the necessities we will have to buy; our families don't really have the financial means to help support/buy large ticket items for us, nor would we expect them to if they did, but i'm having a hard time deciding which type of stroller/car seat arrangement we should do. We need two car seats, i know this; thats not the issue; i'm just not sure if we should get two travel systems (would be hard for me to push both strollers around though), a double stroller that the 2 car seats would fit on, or i'm more inclined right now to just buy 2 car seats and those little wheelie things you can snap the car seats on to turn them into mini strollers, until they get big enough to go into a double jogging stroller or something (the one i was looking at says 3months and up). Does this sound like a good idea? I just want it to be as easy as possible to get around and actually get out and do stuff if i feel like it, you know? I know i'm probably wayyy over thinking this, but just starting to panic a bit!

Sorry about the long ramble, and thanks in advance for any advice!

Congratulations on your double blessing.
You've got lots of time to shop around. Its not a bad idea to go to the store and "test drive" the stroller your looking at.
We are just using the double stroller we already have and its a tandem that both infant seats can attach to.

Welcome and congrats!!! You will 100% need a double stroller. I used the Graco Duo glider and my carriers snapped right into. I seriously could not have got through the first 6-8 months without my stroller. You have plenty of time to shop around and find what works best for you and your lifestyle. I think the stroller is the single most talked about item on this board....you definitely arent alone in your quest of the perfect stroller. Good Luck!!

We are currently using a Snap N Go with two seats bought separately (we got Evenflo Embraces as they worked with our preemies weights/had to meet NICU measures, etc.). But we also have a 20 month old, so we are also using a Valco Trimode twin with optional toddler seat. (This stroller is a "light jogging" stroller of sorts.)

We have 4 strollers right now and the babies are only 5 months old.

We already had our Graco Snugride car seats that my aunt had given me (they are still within the expiration date) so we bought the Graco Duoglider so they could snap into them. With coupons, it was only about $120 so it didn't seem to be that much more than the Snap and Go frames. My friend has twin girls who are toddlers and although she's not crazy about her Duoglider she still uses it in the mall, etc. Knowing how big the double jogger is, I'm glad we have it for this reason. When they are toddlers, we'll still be able to have a stroller for the mall. And the Duoglider is incredibly convenient for right now!!!

At 3 months, my mom bought us a BOB jogger. We were able to start using it with support at that time- Harper used the Snuzzler and Jackson just needed the head support. We use it all the time for walks around the neighborhood, the park, etc. It's great. It rides so much better than the Duoglider.

We also have two of the Chicco umbrella strollers for when they get a little bigger. DP and I are almost always together on outings so I think this will be great- so long as we don't have a lot of stuff to carry with them! We bought the stroller connectors- don't know how they'll work- but we always have the other strollers if we are alone.

My sister in law is having a baby next month. She is getting the Snap and Go, then has a Maclaren light weight stroller, and the jogging stroller.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I just had to add that we have one of the original BOB Duallies, and it is still working wonderfully after 8 years. . . even after trail running and 3 kids. Our 5 year old still can ride in it! I guess what I'm saying is that if you walk or jog, these pricier joggers can sometimes be a better value over the long haul than you think.
