Default Hi there!

Hi, I am new to posting here, but I have been lurking around for quite some time.
I'm 33, my hubby is 35. I have three children, son 17, daughter 13, son 11. My sweetie and I have been best friends for over ten years, but became romantically involved only a few years ago. Everything is absolutely great.

however, he has no children of his own. And by the time he and I realized how right we were for one another, my children were quite a bit older, so he hasnt even had the opportunity to partake in raising my three as wee ones. I had my tubes tied in 94. The past year or so, we have really decided that we want to try to have a baby. So, our first appointment is on April 10th. (my oldest son's birthday ) at UBC fertility clinic in Vancouver, BC Canada. (where I live).

We have a long road ahead, but are very excited.

Brightest Blessings to all of you, and I am happy to have found this message board.

Shilo

Thanks so much! Im curious Angie, does your insurance cover part of your tubal reversal?
Im thinking positively too! I know some people said to us, "WOW! It's so expensive to get your tubes untied! You're crazy! " And all I say is, "people think nothing of spending thousands on a new car etc. I would much rather spend the money on trying to have a new baby!"

Thanks Angela!

Meremoongirl- I haven't had my tubes tide, sorry, didn't mean to confuse you! But with my insurance I have to be at my job for 9 months to get benefits, and they are so picky with things, so I am sure I will be paying a lot of this with my own money! Darn it! lol With our son we didn't have insurance, and my goodness that was sooo expensive!! :O

Oh wow Angie, that's tough.
Im lucky, I live in British Columbia Canada, and pretty much everyone has medical coverage here. Medical SERvices Plan is based on the household income and dependents. The less money you make, the less it costs, if you are on government assistance, or make under 18,000 (i think) then it is free. Plus, if on government assistance, prescriptions are covered too. Most employers offer additional health insurance. For a very decent amount (and sometimes free of charge, depending on company) they will pay medical. My dh has full coverage for all of us, dental too. we are very fortunate. However, none of the plans cover tubal reversal. They DO cover the tubal litgation, though.

I know!! Canada has the greatest insurance for their people, that is so great!! Here we have to work our butts off to get it! I can't wait for you to get your reversal done! Are you taking Prenatals yet or anything? I am with the extra Folic Acid. I had a m/c last year, so I want to ensure I am doing all the little extras. Is your hubby really excited or is he starting to get nervous? Even though we have one ourselves, my dh get nervous! He's like, I can't believe it is next month when we will start trying! lol He is such a dork sometimes! lol It's so cool we will be trying at almost the same time! Maybe we will have pregnancies together!

I'm not on pre-natals yet. I currently take a really great multivitamin that has folic acid in it, I also take a highly absorbable calcium/magnesium supplement and I take EFA's By Natural Factors (in the form of primrose oil, tuna oil and flax. Apparently the tuna oil is free of mercury) I have started to cut down on my caffeine intake, as I am a BIG coffee/tea drinker, so I am working my way down to eventually eliminate the caffeine all together.
My dh is excited that we are going to try. He is the one that felt sure we could find away to save up the money. I was skeptical. This will be his first child, but all his friends are having babies and he decided he too wanted to hop on the Baby Bandwagon. Which was great for me, because I had wanted to do this for awhile, but I wasnt sure how he felt about it. Hopefully surgery will be done in the summer. Then we will be ttc with bells on!!!
YES! Maybe we will have pregnancies around the same time! Good luck to you and your dh as well.
