Default Cycle Buddies part 16

Hey guys, well the last thread got locked so I thought I would start another!
I ended up leaving the letter in DH car this morning and after he red it he came straight to school to see me! He was excited.

I got another BFP this morning it was darker or at least I think so. I took a pic but am having trouble getting it to upload to photobucket. Anyway.

I have a dr's appt. with just my regular dr. tomorrow morn at 7 am. I do not have an ob near where we live yet b/c until now I just needed yearly check ups and all. I wanted to keep him but dh thinks a 2 hour drive is too long. I agree, but that is the only ob I have ever seen! UGH!

Hi girls,
The curtains arrived today! Have just put them up and they couldn't have been better, I am so pleased with them! Apart from we have to get a new door and put up a net curtain, the nursery is finished - hooray!!! Here are some pics I promised you all, I know that you have been eager to see some! It is quite difficult to get pics in the nursery as it is an awkward shaped room, but I have done the best I can!

The nursery, looking from the doorway.

Our changing unit with little rattan baskets to hold baby toiletries in etc!

The cotbed with a Peter rabbit cot mobile!

The peter rabbit lampshade!

The Peter rabbit curtains.

A close up of the material of the curtains.

The nursery with the blackout curtains!

Amanda - I knew that your DH would be excited! Congratulations to you both again!
Have got to go and get ready for the body shop party now. I might be without the use of a computer for the weekend, as a friend of ours is installing updated software on it, so if you don't hear from me until Monday, you know why!
Has anyone got anything nice planned for the weekend?
love,
Tamarin.xxx

Tamarin ~

The baby's room looks great! You've both done such a great job on it. Everything looks so fresh & clean. You are ready for the baby to be here! I really hope I can start on my baby's room soon.

Amanda ~

It must have been great to see the look on your husband's face when he showed up. I bet he's so excited! Have you or when do you plan on telling your family & friends?

Hey girls!

Amanda-YAY! I bet DH was just so excited! I hope you can find a dr. that's closer to you.

Tamarin-How cute!!! It all looks so nice together. The curtains are adoreable. Like Cookie said, it looks so fresh and clean! I can't wait to decorate!!!!! Thanks for posting the pics. I'm sure baby is going to LOVE his nursery. Yes, I said "his" nursery b/c apparently this board only makes boys! LOL!

Nothing new here. Just going to try and get finished packing. Really all I have left is stuff that we use everyday and stuff that I was procrastinating packing b/c it's a pain....like stuff in the garage, etc. We are supposed to close at 10 am tomorrow! I swear, if the bank calls tonight I'm not answering the phone! LOL!! I'll check in later.

Hola amigas-
Tamarin- cute room! I love the changing table w/the little baskets below....too cute

Amanda- How exciting! You 2 must be on cloud 9!

Alana- today is the day- so I'm sure we won't hear from you for a while! I hope the weather is good for your move. Can't wait to start seeing your nursery pics, too.

Well...dh, dd and I have started the shopping spree....we bought so many cute little things..I'll see if I have time to post pics later. Not too much happening this weekend. We're going to try to finish emptying the baby room..so we can start packing in the baby stuff. We're big on holidays around here...so I'd like to get done well in advance of the holiday season. (keep the stress down! )

ttyl- Hi Jima, Michelle, Amanda!!!

Hey girls! We closed on the house this morning !!! When Dh gets home from work we are going to take some boxes and stuff over there. We pick up our moving truck at 9am tomorrow. His dad and brother are coming to help us. For some reason his mom is insisting on coming too. We told her we didn't need her help but whatever. She and the dad don't speak, so this will be interesting. She's not going to ruin my day!! The minute she starts bossing me around, I swear I'll put on my iPod so I don't have to hear her . I have it charging now. Anyway.....that's all that's going on with me today. I'm so relieved!!! I can't believe it's finally ours. Unreal. YAY!! I'll check in later tonight and of course again as soon as my comptuter is up and running again.

Hey girls!! I am so happy!!!It is all sinking in now! Went to my general dr. today, got a BFP from him too! So I am hunting for a new OBGYN. The one have used for years is in Memphis and that's 2+ hours away from us now. I hope to make an appt and get my 8 week u/s scheduled. Dr. said that I should not have to go until then is that right?

Tamarin--I love the nursery! It is adorable. I of course have been looking at lots of nursery things and have found a few that I like...here's one. (This would not direct link)

http://www.burlingtoncoatfactory.com...ction_Id=25833

Cookie--We plan on telling family with in the next few weeks but slowly. My mom will find out Tues (b/c I can't keep secrets from her) and hopefully we will get to tell my dad in person next weekend. As far grandparents and dh's family it will probably be right before or after my first u/s. I am so afraid to tell too many people too soon. About half a dozen people here know already.

Alana--Good luck with moving!!I know you are so excited!!

Angie--I want to start shopping!! DH said that I could not start buying a lot, but I am sure that I will do some shopping here and there!

Ok, question ladies....how soon did you start gaining weight and get into maternity clothes. I have found some cute ones for fall but do not want to buy yet not knowing that! Just wondering! I know that I am jumping the gun but I am ready to shop and really get into being pg!

The only sxs I am having so far is HEARTBURN! Oh my it feels like my chest is on FIRE! Mild nausea but no sickness yet!

Also what are some good books to get so I can start reading up? I know you all have a lot between you! (espcially Cookie! I remember your Amazon spree and wait! )

Hey Michele, Jima, and Amanda!!!!

Amanda-I know you are so excited and I am so excited for you! I started wearing maternity clothes pretty early on. I have gained 8 pounds so far and I'm almost 18 weeks. Dr. says I'm right on target. I try not to buy too many maternity clothes b/c by the time I get really big it's going to be cold out. So, just keep the weather in mind. As fas as the u/s goes..my dr. only does ONE u/s and that's at 20 weeks! I have heard that other dr.'s do them earlier though....I hope this is the case for you. Sorry to hear about your heartburn. I carry a HUGE bottle of Tums in my purse b/c I get acid reflux. It's yucky. Hopefully you will avoid m/s! I like the bedding!!! Very cute!

I am so happy Amanda is pg now! I have so many pg sxs that are NOT fun! I have wanted to vent about them for a while, but was waiting until Amanda got a BFP! There is nothing worse than TTC and hearing pg women gripe about being pg! Anyway....my back kills!!! Anyone else having this? It's a very sharp pain in my lower back. It comes and goes, and when i have it I can't bend over. I think it's pg induced sciatica?? Also, in the mornings when I get out of bed, my feet hurt sooo bad! It only lasts like 10 minutes and then I'm fine. They feel so sore, like I had walked 20 miles the day before. Anyone else? I also have acid reflux which sometimes wakes me up at night. Ok...that's it for now. And I'm NOT complaining!!! I've been wondering if anyone else had any of this and I'm so glad I can finally ask. LOL!

Oh...I just called the cable and internet company to have my service transfered and it's going to be Wednesday before they can turn it on at the new house! AAHHHH! No computer for 5 days! What ever will I do? LOL!! I'll have to go to DH's work and use his computer to get my fix! LOL!! So....just in case I'm MIA for a while, that's why.

Amanda - Congratulations!! I am so happy for you!!! I am so glad you are pregnant!! Have you told anyone other than Dh yet?

Angie - You have a baby boy!!!!!!!!!!!! Woo-hoo!!!!!!!! I can't believe all the boys here! I was thinking I was going to have a boy, but I might re-think that! DH must be so thrilled! I'm glad DD is happy to. I had the same reaction as her when I found out I was having a baby brother. They tend to grow on you............!

Alana - Moving day tomorrow?????? I can't believe it! Thats is SO awesome! Do you know where you are putting all your furniture yet?? I bet you must be so excited to start on the nursery!

Ok. I've got to run and get schoold supplies but I just wanted to say CONGRATS to you guys!! You've made my day!

Hi girls,
Well, we have our computer back now! Have missed you all!

Alana - hope the move goes as stress-free as possible, especially with the help from your MIL! I know what you mean about the bad back! My midwife thinks it is the position the baby is in and it is pressing on a nerve - not a nice feeling.

Amanda - I started wearing maternity clothes at around 4 months pg. I had a lot of maternity clothes given to me, so I didn't have to buy an awful lot. I know it is lovely to shop until you drop, but just remember they are only in use for a short time! Love the nursery bedding!

Amanda - Glad you are doing well!

I thought that you would all like the pics of the nursery I posted!
I went back to work today, am feeling shattered this evening! DH and I are going through a lot of problems with his ex and her husband, things are getting way out of hand. DH is so upset about everything, that I took matters into my own hands last night and rang his ex. I have bitten my tongue for so long and I just let rip at her on the phone. I got so worked up about everything last night that I felt I couldn't get enough air, my heart was beating so fast and then I started hyperventilating. I keep getting this funny turns lately, a bit like chlostraphobia. I think because the baby is getting bigger now, it is pressing on my ribcage, making it harder for me to breathe. Has anyone else experienced this?
Anyway, must go now, will speak to you all tomorrow.
love,
Tamarin.xxx

I had a bit of a scare, and thought I would share my story.
Dh was away for a few days on a canoe trip and I of course, was alone.
I had been having this pulling and stretching sentation on and off in my lower abdomen for about a week. Well, it was late, about midnight, and the pain got really bad. I couldn't even stand up straight, so I decided to drive myself into the emerg department.
It was now about 1 am. I got there and they got me into a private room fairly quickly.
I gave a urine sample and it was clear, no sign of infection.
The nurse found the heartbeat on the doppler right away at 156 beats. I was so happy to see that.
Then I waited for about an hour and a half and the doctor finally came in, asked a bunch of questions, then he did a speculum exam and an internal. ( both very uncomfortable).
Then he ordered a bunch of blood work to be done.
The lab came, took the blood, and I waited another hour for the results.
Everything came back ok, except that my white blood cells were elevated (the ones that indicate infection) but that can be normal in pregnancy.
He said it was probably just normal stretching of the ligaments, just exagerated. To take it easy for a few days, and hopefully everything would be ok.
I called my midwife the next day, and she seemed to think the same as the emerg doc.
It has been 3 days and I feel ok now, but I was so scared that something was wrong with the baby.

Here is my most recent belly pic at 19 weeks (on the left) and to compare at 17 weeks (on the right).

Amanda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OMG!OMG!OMG!
CONGRATS girl!! I am so happy for you! You will have to update with all your sxs as you experience them, and we will help you through it. As far as mat clothes go, I only just bought my first outfits. I haven't gained any weight yet, just started to change shape. I can still fit into my regular clothes, but they are getting a little snug. It is different for everyone.

ANGIE!!!!! CONGRATS on the boy!!! I will have to look back and see what my guess was, I forget now. Is dh still on cloud 9? I am so happy for you.

Tamarin, the nursery looks great! I love the ratan baskets.

Everyone else, hi! Hope to hear from you soon!

Hey guys!
I hope that you all are having a great labor day! We went shopping. I did buy a couple of pairs of mat. pants b/c I am already miserable in jeans! So i went ahead and got a pair on sale. BTW--Old NAvy had some really great prices today. I also got a pair of khaki's on sale at Motherhood.

Ok, I can not get the thoughts of miscarriage and other negatives out of my mind. It is really scaring me. I mean I know that stress can cause miscarriage and I am afraid I am thinking about it way too much. Did any of you experience this? Maybe it is b/c I have not starting m/s yet, or been to an OBGYN. I am going to try to make that appt. tomorrow. I guess I am just really nervous and all. It still has not sunk in, especially since we have not told people yet. I think I will feel better when more sxs hit. I have been having a bit of cramping and streching in my abs and heartburn. BB's are already filling out a little . New bra's will be my next purchase!
ANother thing that is concerning me is that dh and I have not since finding out I was pg. I guess we are both a bit scared to also. I dunno!

Michele-- I am so sorry to hear about your scare! I am glad that it turned out to be nothing serious.

Tamarin--I think I am going to be given a considerable amount of clothing too, but the lovely ladies that are providing it are tiny. I am not so tiny anymore so their pants were out of the ? ! Oh well!

Alana--I hope that moving went well! Can't wait to see pics!

Hi Angie, Amanda, and Jima!

BTW-We are telling my mom tomorrow when she comes up. Dad is still in Memphis and we will not see him until the end of the month so I sent him a journal to tell him and hopefuly he will write in for baby.
As far as dh family, we are not going to tell them until after my 1st dr visit when we go up there in Oct. We are going to tell them with plaques that say something about grandparents.

Alana, I forgot to ask how the move went?
I hope smooth, and I hope you took rest periods!

Amanda, I think the thought of m/c crosses everyones mind. I had 2 before this pregnancy, so I was terrified this time, and everything is fine. Just try and relax, it is best for you and baby.

Hi girls,

Angie - my predictions for both Amanda's are girls.

Alana - miss you! Hope you join us soon!

Michelle - so sorry to hear about your scare. I am glad that you and baby are alright.

This week at work is exhausting me, I am shattered every night! I am sleeping so well! DH didn't get much sleep the night before last, as apparently when he came to bed (as he is on late shift this week) he cuddled up to me with his stomach touching my bump and the baby kept kicking him really hard and moving about for an hour and a half non-stop! Now he knows how it feels for me all the time!!! It usually wakes me up too, but not lately!
DH and I have agreed with his ex and her husband to sit down a week on sunday to try and sort things out - not looking forward to this!
Anyway, going to have some tea now and put my feet up! Hope everyone else is well.
love,
Tamarin.xxx

Hey everyone!

Tamarin--DH and I are both hoping that you are right. He actaully wants a girl 1st which kinda surprised me!

Angie--I am so glad that I am here too! It was not that long of a wait for me to join you all but it was worth it b/c you all have been great!

Ok, I want one of those tickers from Baby-gaga.com that shows how the baby is developing week-by-week (like some of you have) but try as I may I can not get the stupid thing to go into my siggy. I know how, others on the DIM board have told me how and it simply will not work!!! UGH!!!!

I am hoping dh is going to take me out to dinner. I really do not want pork chops! I HATE pork chops! That is not even a pg thing, I have always disliked them, but even more so now!

Alana--I hope the moving is going well! We sure do miss you!!!!!

Hey Michele--How are things going there? Great I hope!

Hi girls! I'm back!!! I sure did miss my computer! No internet or TV for 4 days. Poor baby. LOL! The move went really well. I didn't lift anything that was very heavy at all, so it wasn't too bad. I LOVE our new place. I feel like I'm in someone else's house and at any minute someone is going to come in and make us leave. hehe. Everything is coming along really well. Our furniture matches and I just LOVE everything about this house. I was really poor growing up and never thought that I would have a house like this. I feel soooo very blessed! I will try to post some pics later.

Michele-So sorry about your scare. I'm glad everything is alright. Your pic looks great! Stop hiding your face!!

Angie-I missed you too!

Tamarin
